Entravision earnings beat as ATS surges; sells WFTT-TV for $30M

Beat — Diluted EPS $0.18 vs ~$0.07 consensus; revenue $226.3M vs ~$162.2M consensus

Entravision’s third-quarter earnings beat published expectations as ATS revenue and profit surged. The company also agreed to sell WFTT-TV for $30 million in cash.

Entravision is in the middle of a sharp business mix shift: its advertising-technology platform, built around programmatic advertising and AI investment, is becoming the growth engine while traditional media remains comparatively stagnant. The prior quarter had already shown ATS growth of 230%, and management had indicated that third-quarter growth would continue but at a slower rate.

The quarter materially exceeded the published bar. Revenue reached $226.3 million and diluted EPS was $0.18, versus published expectations of roughly $162.2 million and $0.07, respectively. That is not just a clean earnings beat: ATS revenue rose 133% to $177.2 million, while ATS operating profit rose 261% to $35.2 million.

Revenue (Financial Highlights)$226.3M (+87.6%)$120.6M~$162.2M
Diluted EPS (Income Statement)$0.18$(0.11)~$0.07
ATS revenue (Segment results — ATS)$177.2M (+132.8%)$76.1M
ATS operating profit (Segment results — ATS)$35.2M (+260.5%)$9.8M
Media operating profit (Segment results — Media)$0.1M$(3.5M)

The beat strengthens the AI-led transition, but does not erase the legacy-media weakness. ATS now generates most of consolidated revenue and profit, with management attributing the increase to more active advertisers, higher revenue per advertiser, AI platform investments and greater sales capacity. Media improved to roughly breakeven in the quarter, helped by political advertising and retransmission fees, but its nine-month operating loss widened to $8.4 million from $5.8 million.

The WFTT-TV sale reinforces the portfolio cleanup and adds liquidity. Entravision agreed to sell the Tampa-area station for $30.0 million in cash, with closing dependent on FCC approval and other conditions. The agreement also ends the existing programming carriage arrangement at closing, making this a real exit from a non-core media asset rather than merely a financing announcement.

Balance-sheet improvement is plausible but not yet locked in. Entravision ended September with $89.7 million of cash and marketable securities against $152.3 million of debt, and it made $15 million of debt payments during the first nine months. The station proceeds could therefore support further deleveraging, but the filing does not commit the sale proceeds to debt repayment.

Bottom line: This is a clearly stronger quarter than the market was expecting, led by unusually powerful ATS execution. The station sale adds a useful capital-allocation option and sharpens the shift toward ad tech, but the transaction still needs regulatory approval and the traditional media business remains a drag.
