CFO appointment
T3 Defense’s new CFO appointment adds finance coverage, but the non-exclusive consulting structure offers limited evidence of a broader operating upgrade.
T3 Defense is still an acquisition-led aerospace and defense holding company, building a portfolio of mission-critical suppliers and technology businesses across the United States, Israel, and Europe. The filing adds finance leadership, but not a new growth catalyst. Shlomo Zakai is appointed CFO effective October 5, 2026, while also providing accounting and bookkeeping services. 〔0〕
The structure looks more like outsourced finance coverage than a full operating build-out. The agreement says the engagement is not exclusive or full-time, allows Zakai to serve other clients, and permits accounting work to be performed by his personnel. 〔1〕 〔2〕
That is a mixed signal for a company trying to integrate acquisitions and operate as a public defense platform. A named CFO provides formal accountability and may help support reporting and integration, but the filing discloses no fee, no transition rationale, no dedicated full-time commitment, and no evidence of improved financial performance. The agreement can also be terminated by either party with 30 days’ notice, limiting the sense of permanence.
Bottom line: This is a genuine governance change, but not yet an operating inflection. It fills the CFO seat while preserving a flexible, fractional finance model—useful coverage, but limited proof that T3’s scaling challenge has materially improved.
