Miss — Revenue $1.07M vs ~$1.91M consensus
bioAffinity’s Q3 earnings show faster CyPath Lung adoption and fresh financing, but revenue fell year over year as reimbursement weakened.
bioAffinity is a tiny commercial-stage diagnostics company trying to turn CyPath Lung from a laboratory-developed test into a larger recurring business, while funding clinical development and operating losses with equity. Its second-quarter filing already showed rapid CyPath testing growth but a going-concern warning and cash expected to last only through August, making commercialization and financing the central story.
The quarter missed the market’s revenue bar by a wide margin. Revenue was $1.07 million, down from $1.45 million a year earlier, versus published Q3 estimates around $1.81 million-$1.94 million, with one commonly cited consensus near $1.91 million. The company attributed the shortfall to lower average reimbursement per CyPath Lung test and fewer cases completed at its laboratory partner.

*December 31, 2025 comparison.
The underlying CyPath adoption trend is materially better than the consolidated revenue line. Test unit sales doubled through the first nine months, CyPath testing revenue rose 79% to roughly $1.1 million, ordering physicians increased 89% year over year in Q3, and existing ordering physicians increased their volume 48%. 〔0〕 Those figures indicate the commercial engine is gaining users; the problem is that reimbursement and the company’s broader pathology activity are not yet converting that utilization into reliable top-line growth.
The business is spending more to build that growth, without yet reaching operating leverage. Selling, general and administrative expense rose 28% to approximately $2.8 million, while clinical development expense increased 75% as the longitudinal study added sites and patients. 〔1〕 That investment supports the adoption and evidence-building story, but it also widened the operating loss and keeps the company dependent on outside capital.
The financing removes the immediate liquidity squeeze but increases the importance of future execution. The company raised $8.0 million gross across August and October offerings, including approximately $4.0 million after quarter-end. 〔2〕 This is meaningful relative to the $2.6 million cash balance at September 30, but it funds continued losses rather than demonstrating that the business is self-sustaining.
Bottom line: The filing confirms real progress in CyPath Lung adoption, but the market-facing result is weaker than expected because reimbursement and consolidated revenue deteriorated while costs rose. Financing buys the company room to execute, but this quarter does not yet prove that adoption is translating into durable financial scale.
