In line — Adjusted OIBDA +3% rebased; revenue -2% rebased; Adjusted FCF -$9.8M
Liberty Latin America’s Q3 earnings show improving subscribers, margins and leverage, but weak rebased revenue and negative free cash flow remain.
Liberty Latin America is trying to turn subscriber growth, pricing actions and cost reductions across its Caribbean and Central American telecom operations into steadier revenue and cash flow. That recovery was already the company’s stated second-half focus entering Q3, with management highlighting organic growth, cash-flow expansion and cost reductions as the main 2026 priorities.
The operating engine improved, but not the top line. Q3 revenue was broadly flat as reported but fell 2% on a rebased basis, while Adjusted OIBDA rose 3% rebased and the margin expanded to 40.6% from 39.0% a year earlier. The improvement came from cost actions and stronger Puerto Rico and Costa Rica performance, not broad-based demand: Panama revenue fell 5%, Puerto Rico fell 3%, and Liberty Networks’ Adjusted OIBDA dropped 16% rebased. “Adjusted OIBDA momentum carried into the third quarter, with rebased growth of 3% and margin expansion of 160 basis points YoY.”
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $1,117M (-2% rebased) | $1,113M | |
| Adjusted OIBDA (Financial Highlights) | $454M (+3% rebased) | $433M | |
| Adjusted OIBDA margin (Operating Highlights) | 40.6% | 39.0% | |
| Adjusted FCF (Financial Highlights) | $(9.8)M | $16.4M | |
| Postpaid additions (Operating Highlights) | 43,200 | 33,100 Q2 2026 | |
| Consolidated net leverage (Leverage and Liquidity) | 4.5x | 4.6x Q2 2026 |
Subscriber momentum is the clearest improvement. The company added 43,200 postpaid subscribers and 12,400 internet customers in Q3, a meaningful step up from Q2’s 33,100 postpaid and 12,100 internet additions. Management says the quarter added 56,000 postpaid mobile and broadband subscribers overall, with Panama leading and Costa Rica recovering. “In the third quarter, we delivered a strong operating performance, adding 56,000 postpaid mobile and broadband subscribers, representing a clear step-up from both Q1 and Q2.”
Cash conversion remains the constraint. Adjusted free cash flow before distributions was negative $9.1 million in Q3 versus positive $16.4 million a year earlier, despite operating cash flow improving to $185 million. Higher capital spending and principal payments to vendors and intermediaries absorbed the operating cash, leaving year-to-date Adjusted FCF only $10 million before distributions. Management’s claim that YTD Adjusted FCF was almost $140 million ahead of 2025 is directionally true because last year was unusually weak, but it does not yet mean the business is producing substantial discretionary cash. “YTD Adjusted FCF before distributions to partners came in almost $140million ahead of the same period in 2025.”
The balance sheet improved modestly, while capital returns accelerated. Consolidated net leverage declined to 4.5x from 4.6x in Q2 as Adjusted OIBDA improved, but cash and cash equivalents fell to $546.2 million from $714.1 million. The company also disclosed more than $150 million of 2026 common-stock repurchases—nearly 10% of year-end 2025 common shares—alongside the existing preferred dividend. “Through 2026 to date, we have deployed over $150million in repurchases, equivalent to nearly 10% of 2025 year-end common shares outstanding.”
This is better execution, not a rewritten growth story. No reliable published Q3 consensus was available in the reviewed record, so the benchmark is the company’s own second-half setup: stronger subscriber additions, improving OIBDA and heavier cash generation expected in Q4. Against that bar, Q3 delivered the operating improvement but not the revenue or cash-flow acceleration yet.
Bottom line: Q3 strengthens the execution narrative through subscriber growth, cost savings and slightly lower leverage, but weak rebased revenue and negative free cash flow keep this from being a decisive step-change for the business.
