Opko Health, Inc. (OPK) · Nov 4, 2026 · Earnings
In line — Net EPS -$0.07 vs ~$0.07 consensus
OPKO earnings show stronger continuing revenue and a profitable Global Products segment, but rising biotech losses and withdrawn services guidance complicate the transition.
OPKO is transitioning from a mixed diagnostics-and-biopharma company into a narrower biopharma business, using asset sales and royalty-backed financing to fund its pipeline. The Labcorp sale and the $125 million royalty financing were already public before this release, so the quarter’s new information is mainly how the remaining business is performing and how management is resetting the reporting framework.
The quarter was broadly in line, not a clean beat. Reported net loss per share of $0.07 matched the published consensus of roughly $0.07, while total revenue of $137.2 million—including $65.4 million from continuing operations and $71.8 million from discontinued operations—was only slightly above the $136.6 million consensus. The comparison is imperfect because OPKO recast BioReference as discontinued operations after the planned sale. 〔0〕
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total revenue (Condensed Statements of Operations) | $137.2M | $151.7M | ~$136.6M |
| Continuing-operations revenue (Condensed Statements of Operations) | $65.4M (+16%) | $56.4M | |
| Net EPS (Condensed Statements of Operations) | $(0.07) | $0.03 | $(0.07) |
| Continuing-operations EPS (Condensed Statements of Operations) | $(0.05) | $(0.04) | |
| Global Products operating income (Segment results) | $6.0M | $(1.2M) | |
| Innovative Biotech operating loss (Segment results) | $(26.8M) | $(22.5M) |
The underlying continuing business improved, led by Global Products. Continuing revenue rose 16% to $65.4 million, and Global Products swung to $6.0 million of operating income from a $1.2 million loss. Rayaldee, international operations and Lilly royalty revenue all contributed, making the commercial pharmaceutical base look healthier than the headline consolidated loss suggests.
The pipeline remains an investment story, not an earnings engine yet. Innovative Biotech revenue held at $17.0 million, but its operating loss widened to $26.8 million as research and development spending rose to $30.4 million, primarily reflecting greater ModeX investment. The first patient dosing for OPK-8801001 and continued ModeX enrollment add development progress, but they do not yet change near-term economics.
The guidance withdrawal is the clearest complication. OPKO withdrew services-revenue and total-cost guidance because the timing of the Labcorp closing is uncertain, while retaining guidance for continuing operations. That is understandable after the strategic separation, but it reduces visibility during a transition in which the company is already carrying a $370.2 million senior secured royalty-financing balance and continuing to fund sizable biotech losses. 〔1〕
Bottom line: OPKO’s remaining pharmaceutical business is executing better, but the quarter only meets expectations and comes with less consolidated visibility. The story advances modestly operationally, while the diagnostics exit and heavier biotech investment keep the overall read mixed rather than decisively improved.
