Beat — Revenue $509.8M vs ~$507.3M consensus; diluted EPS $0.30 vs ~$0.15
Remitly earnings beat Q3 expectations as revenue reached $510M, adjusted EBITDA jumped 97%, and full-year guidance rose.
Remitly is still anchored by its cross-border remittance network, but it is actively building outward into business payments and the Global Card, using that network to become a broader financial-services platform. That expansion was already the standing story before this release, so the question was whether growth and operating leverage could keep accelerating.
The quarter beat the market on the core operating metrics. Revenue reached $509.8 million versus published consensus around $507.3 million, while diluted EPS was $0.30 versus roughly $0.15 expected. More important than the narrow revenue beat, adjusted EBITDA reached $120.8 million against the prior $92–$94 million company guide, showing that the margin improvement was materially stronger than anticipated. The published pre-release revenue expectation was about $507 million, with quarterly active customers expected around 10.5 million and send volume around $24.7 billion. The release states that Remitly delivered “record revenue and a more than seven-fold year over year increase in net income.”
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $509.8M (+21.5%) | $419.5M | ~$507.3M consensus |
| Diluted EPS (Financial Highlights) | $0.30 | $0.04 | ~$0.15 consensus |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Adjusted EBITDA reconciliation) | $120.8M (+97%) | $61.2M | $92–94M prior guide |
| Transaction margin dollars (Transaction margin reconciliation) | $347.4M (+27%) | $272.8M | |
| Free cash flow (Free cash flow reconciliation) | $87.8M (+7%) | $81.8M | |
| FY26 revenue outlook (2026 and 4Q 2026 Outlook) | $1.989–1.991B | $1.978–1.988B prior guide | |
| FY26 adjusted EBITDA outlook (2026 and 4Q 2026 Outlook) | $441–443M | $410–415M prior guide |
The real upgrade is operating leverage, not the tax line. Transaction margin expanded to 68.1% from 65.0%, and adjusted EBITDA margin rose to 23.7% from 14.6%. The filing attributes the improvement to better network economics, lower transaction losses, and lower operating expense ratios, including technology and development efficiency tied partly to AI. That makes the result more durable than a headline EPS comparison alone. The filing says, “Our scale advantages and advanced pricing engine helped drive transaction margin dollars 27% higher YoY in Q3.”
Management raised the full-year bar rather than merely confirming it. FY26 revenue guidance moved from $1.978–$1.988 billion to $1.989–$1.991 billion, while adjusted EBITDA guidance rose sharply from $410–$415 million to $441–$443 million. The revenue increase is modest, but the EBITDA change says the company is converting growth into profit faster than its prior outlook assumed. The filing also says the board increased the share-repurchase authorization by $300 million, from $200 million to $500 million, although the program creates no obligation to repurchase shares.
The diversification story is gaining evidence, but remains secondary to remittances. Remitly surpassed 30,000 business customers, signed Etsy as its first platform partner, and launched the Global Card in the quarter. Those are meaningful progress markers for the newer businesses, but the filing does not yet disclose their standalone revenue or profit contribution.
Bottom line: This was a clear earnings beat with a much bigger profitability upside than the revenue surprise suggests, and management raised the full-year outlook. It strengthens Remitly’s existing growth-and-operating-leverage story without yet proving that the newer businesses have become major financial contributors.
