Remitly credit facility doubles as growth funding flexibility expands

$450M facility expansion — Secured revolver increased to $1.0B from $550M

Remitly’s credit facility expansion doubles available revolver capacity, supporting its fast-growing cross-border payments and financial-services buildout without an immediate cash raise.

Remitly is scaling from a remittance app into a broader cross-border financial-services platform, adding products such as cards, wallets and services for higher-value senders and businesses while expanding its global money-movement network.

The company materially increased its financial flexibility. Amendment No. 2 raises the secured revolving credit facility to $1.0 billion from $550 million and doubles the letter-of-credit sub-facility to $400 million.

This is capacity, not fresh funding. The filing does not disclose a draw, new cash proceeds, or an increase in funded borrowings; it gives Remitly more room to support working capital, letters of credit and expansion as transaction volumes grow. That matters more because the business has been scaling quickly, with 2025 send volume up 37% and 2026 results showing continued expansion into new customer and product categories.

The signal is modestly positive but not transformational. There is no published earnings-style consensus benchmark for a credit amendment, so the clean comparison is against the standing business need: Remitly now has substantially more liquidity headroom, but the filing does not yet show that the company needs—or has used—the additional debt.

Bottom line: This strengthens Remitly’s funding flexibility for its next growth phase without changing operations or adding disclosed debt today. It is a useful balance-sheet enabler, not a new revenue catalyst.
