Beat — Adj. diluted EPS $0.89 vs ~$0.86 consensus; revenue $3.59B vs ~$3.54B
GXO’s Q3 earnings beat revenue and EPS expectations, while flat EBITDA, weaker margins and lower free cash flow temper the growth story.
GXO is trying to turn contract logistics into a faster-growing, higher-productivity business by concentrating on North America and strategic verticals such as aerospace and defense, technology, industrials and life sciences, while scaling its GXO Way operating model and AI-powered automation. That direction was already established before this report: its second-quarter update highlighted the same commercial, operational and technology priorities, including roughly $1 billion of secured 2026 incremental revenue and $353 million for 2027.
The quarter beat the published bar, but not by enough to rewrite the story. Revenue of $3.59 billion exceeded the roughly $3.54 billion consensus, while adjusted diluted EPS of $0.89 topped the roughly $0.86 expectation. The operating result was better than investors were prepared for, but the beat was narrow rather than a major acceleration.

Commercial momentum is the strongest part of the filing. GXO reported $375 million of quarterly wins, up 34% year over year, and $630 million of expected incremental 2027 revenue signed through the third quarter. That improves visibility into next year and supports the company’s claim that its strategic-vertical and North American push is producing real bookings, not just pipeline commentary. However, the $630 million figure is below the $690 million year-ahead position disclosed for the comparable point last year, so the headline momentum is not uniformly stronger.
The quality of growth is mixed because profitability did not scale with sales. Revenue increased 5.7% and organic revenue grew 6.4%, but adjusted EBITDA was unchanged at $251 million and adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 7.0% from 7.4%. Operating income also declined to $96 million from $118 million. The EPS increase was helped by lower amortization and other adjustments, while the core EBITDA result shows that GXO is not yet converting the commercial acceleration into operating leverage.
Cash generation is the clearest setback. Third-quarter operating cash flow fell to $156 million from $232 million, and free cash flow dropped to $85 million from $187 million. The filing attributes the broader strategy to investment in organic growth, but it does not show a corresponding improvement in cash conversion yet. Net leverage remained stable at 2.7x, which limits the balance-sheet concern but does not erase the weaker cash outcome.
Guidance reaffirmation keeps the result from becoming a full upgrade. GXO left its FY 2026 organic revenue growth, adjusted EBITDA, adjusted EPS and free-cash-flow-conversion ranges unchanged. That is consistent with the prior outlook rather than an upward reset, despite the quarterly revenue and EPS beat. The filing therefore strengthens confidence in the commercial pipeline modestly, but it does not yet show that the company can deliver faster growth with better margins and cash conversion.
Bottom line: GXO beat quarterly expectations and is building a healthier forward bookings base, but flat EBITDA and sharply lower free cash flow make this a modest improvement—not a change in the underlying investment story.
