In line — 2026 revenue guide reaffirmed at $46-$50M; no reliable published Q3 consensus
Aquestive’s Q3 earnings keep Anaphylm’s March 2027 FDA decision on track, while lower Suboxone orders pressure revenue and cash.
Aquestive is still a pre-commercial biotech whose central value rests on getting Anaphylm, its oral epinephrine film, through the FDA after January’s Complete Response Letter; its current operating base remains a manufacturing business heavily exposed to Suboxone orders. The FDA accepted Anaphylm’s resubmission as complete in October and assigned a March 16, 2027 PDUFA date, so this filing confirms the regulatory path rather than creating a new one.
The lead program advanced, but the headline regulatory win was already public. Anaphylm was resubmitted on September 16 and received a Class 2 review with a March 16, 2027 goal date. 〔0〕 The company also says launch preparation and a Canadian filing remain on track, but there is no new clinical efficacy readout or evidence that FDA approval is secured. The prior quarter had already reaffirmed the Q3 resubmission plan and the same financial outlook, making this mostly execution against an established roadmap.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | 2026 guidance | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue ($M) (Income Statement) | $7.6M (-41%) | $12.8M | $46-$50M |
| Adjusted EBITDA loss ($M) (Non-GAAP reconciliation) | $12.2M | $8.6M | $30-$35M loss |
| Cash and equivalents ($M) (Balance Sheet) | $90.3M |
The quarter itself was weaker than the prior-year comparison. Revenue fell to $7.6 million from $12.8 million, primarily because of the timing of Suboxone orders. Manufacturing volume also dropped to about 26 million doses from 44 million, while adjusted EBITDA loss widened to $12.2 million from $8.6 million. That looks negative operationally, even if order timing rather than a confirmed structural loss of demand explains much of the decline.
The new Libervant deal improves funding flexibility but does not remove the financing problem. Aquestive received $10 million upfront from Eton, with up to $47.5 million of contingent milestones and mid-teens royalties, while retaining a 20-year supply role. Those milestones depend on future FDA decisions and commercial execution, so only the upfront payment is certain today; cash still declined to $90.3 million by September 30 from $121.2 million at year-end 2025.
Bottom line: The core Anaphylm story remains intact, but this filing does not improve it materially because the FDA timetable was already known. The business quarter was soft and cash continued to run down, leaving the March 2027 FDA decision as the event that can genuinely change the story.
