Name change
Blink Charging’s name-change filing formalizes its shift toward energy management and storage, but provides no new financial or operating evidence.
Blink is still primarily an EV-charging equipment, network, and services company, but it is trying to move toward a more recurring-revenue model built around charging services, energy management, and battery storage. Its 2026 restructuring already shifted the business toward leaner operations and contract manufacturing, while recent results showed service revenue growing even as product demand remained soft.
The filing formalizes a strategy the market already knew about. Blink filed to change its corporate name to “Blink Energy Co.” 〔0〕 The broader rebrand and expansion into energy management and storage had already been publicly announced on October 29, so this 8-K is mainly the legal and governance follow-through, not a fresh strategic surprise.
It does not yet validate the new business model. The filing contains no new contracts, revenue targets, storage deployments, margins, or profitability milestones. That matters because the existing story is still a transition: Blink’s first-half 2026 revenue fell 14% year over year, while charging-service revenue rose 17%, suggesting the recurring-services piece is improving but has not yet offset weaker hardware demand.
The immediate effect is administrative, with execution still outstanding. The name change is not effective until Nevada confirms it, and the company will update its bylaws, incentive plan, and other governance documents once effective. 〔1〕 〔2〕
Bottom line: This confirms and legally implements Blink’s energy-management repositioning, but it does not change the operating evidence. The business story is still about proving that services and storage can become meaningful growth engines beyond EV-charger sales.
Nevada confirmation of the amendment’s effective date
