In line — Adjusted EPS $0.29 vs ~$0.29 consensus
Kenvue’s third-quarter earnings were broadly in line with expectations: sales edged ahead, margins expanded, but Skin Health remained soft.
Kenvue is a standalone consumer-health company trying to improve growth and margins while reshaping its cost base ahead of its pending combination with Kimberly-Clark. The prior quarter had already established a pattern of sales growth and operational improvement, with no forward guidance because of the transaction.
The quarter met the bar, rather than reset it. Third-quarter sales of $3.886 billion were slightly ahead of the published consensus near $3.86 billion, while adjusted diluted EPS of $0.29 was essentially in line with consensus near $0.29. That makes this a steady execution quarter, not a meaningful earnings surprise. The company delivered its fourth consecutive quarter of net and organic sales growth. 〔0〕
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net sales (Income Statement) | $3,886M (+3.2%) | $3,764M | ~$3,860M |
| Adjusted diluted EPS (EPS reconciliation) | $0.29 (+3.6%) | $0.28 | ~$0.29 |

| Adjusted operating margin (Adjusted operating income reconciliation) | 21.9% (+0.4 pts) | 21.5% | — |
The better part of the release is operating leverage. Adjusted operating margin expanded to 21.9% from 21.5%, helped by productivity, supply-chain savings, tariff refunds, pricing, and cost optimization. Reported operating margin improved even more, to 18.2% from 16.7%, although the comparison still includes restructuring and transaction-related charges.
Growth remains uneven across the portfolio. Self Care was the clear engine, with organic sales up 5.4%, while Essential Health grew 2.5%. Skin Health and Beauty was effectively stagnant on reported sales and declined 0.5% organically as U.S. distribution losses and European retailer negotiations outweighed gains from Hair Care. That mix matters: Kenvue is improving execution, but not yet broadly accelerating across all major franchises.
Cash generation gives the transformation more credibility. Nine-month free cash flow rose to $1.6 billion from $1.0 billion, while debt declined to $8.2 billion from $8.5 billion at year-end. The company also recorded $188 million of restructuring and operating-model costs through nine months against its approximately $250 million full-year 2026 target, so the savings program is active but still carrying meaningful execution costs.
The Kimberly-Clark deal remains the dominant external variable. Kenvue incurred $28 million of pending-transaction costs in the quarter and $60 million year to date, while continuing to withhold formal forward guidance. The transaction was already widely known, so this filing adds operating detail rather than changing the strategic situation.
Bottom line: Kenvue is executing the turnaround plan with improving margins, cash flow, and core-category growth, but Q3 was broadly expected rather than a surprise. The business story is progressing, not materially re-rated by this filing; the bigger next change comes from completing the Kimberly-Clark combination.
