Supernus earnings beat revenue estimates but EPS misses as guidance rises

Miss — Diluted EPS $0.35 vs ~$0.49 consensus; revenue $226.8M vs ~$217.6M

Supernus earnings show strong growth from Qelbree, ZURZUVAE and ONAPGO, but EPS missed consensus. Guidance improved ahead of the Indivior merger.

Supernus is shifting from an aging legacy portfolio toward faster-growing CNS products such as Qelbree, ZURZUVAE, ONAPGO and GOCOVRI, while preparing to combine with Indivior next week. The quarter extends that transition: the growth portfolio is working, but the headline profit result fell short of the published bar.

Revenue clearly beat expectations, but the earnings miss is the cleaner scorecard. Total revenue rose 18% to $226.8 million, ahead of the published consensus of roughly $217.6 million, but diluted EPS was $0.35 versus consensus near $0.49. That makes this a revenue beat and an earnings miss rather than a clean upside quarter.

Q3 2026Q3 2025Consensus
Total revenues (Income Statement)$226.8M (+18%)$192.1M~$217.6M
Diluted EPS (Income Statement)$0.35$(0.80)~$0.49
Adjusted operating earnings (Non-GAAP reconciliation)$55.2M (+32%)$41.9M

The underlying commercial story is stronger than the EPS headline. The four growth products generated $192.2 million, up 29%; Qelbree rose 12% to $90.8 million, ZURZUVAE collaboration revenue more than doubled to $41.7 million, and ONAPGO reached $17.1 million. That growth is offsetting steep declines in Oxtellar XR, APOKYN and other legacy products, but it is also why the quarter’s revenue beat matters more than the raw 6% increase in net product sales.

Guidance improved modestly, preventing the quarter from reading as a broad setback. Revenue guidance moved to $875 million-$900 million from $860 million-$890 million, while adjusted operating earnings guidance rose at the low end to $160 million-$180 million from $150 million-$180 million. GAAP operating-loss guidance also improved, although the company still expects a full-year GAAP loss. The message is that management sees enough operating momentum to lift the floor, even after absorbing impairment charges and continued legacy-product erosion.

The merger is now a near-term execution event, not new information. Shareholder approval was already disclosed, and the release reiterates an expected November 2, 2026 closing and November 3 trading start for the combined company. The quarter therefore matters mainly as the last standalone operating read before Supernus becomes part of the larger CNS platform; the promised $125 million of annual synergies remain future execution rather than current-quarter evidence. 〔0〕

Bottom line: Supernus delivered real growth and raised the operating outlook, but the EPS miss keeps this from being a clean earnings win. The business is advancing toward the Indivior combination, with growth-product momentum doing the heavy lifting while older brands continue to fade.
