Solaris Energy signs 900 MW power agreement with 15-year term

900 MW power agreement — 900 MW; 15-year initial term with 15-year extension option

Solaris Energy’s new power agreement adds 900 MW of contracted generation for an investment-grade customer, with deployments beginning in 2027.

Solaris is shifting from an oilfield-equipment heritage toward a larger behind-the-meter power platform serving data centers, industrial customers, and other buyers facing constrained grid capacity. Its Power Solutions segment already averaged roughly 950 MW of revenue-generating capacity in the second quarter, while recent contracts have lengthened its contracted revenue visibility.

This materially expands the contracted power story. A subsidiary signed an agreement to provide approximately 900 MW of generation, balance-of-plant equipment, and operations and maintenance services to an investment-grade existing customer. 〔0〕 That is a large addition relative to the company’s existing operating base and reinforces that customer expansion—not just new-logo wins—is driving Solaris’s power buildout.

The contract adds unusually long revenue visibility, but not near-term earnings. Each deployment carries a 15-year initial term with a further 15-year extension option, but deployments are not expected to begin until the first half of 2027 and will scale through 2028. 〔1〕 〔2〕

The main limitation is disclosure, not strategic direction. Solaris does not identify the customer, disclose pricing, expected revenue or EBITDA, or quantify the capital required to build the capacity. That keeps the contract’s ultimate returns and financing burden unclear, especially because Solaris has already been committing substantial capital to expand its generation platform.

Bottom line: This is a meaningful new anchor for Solaris’s power-infrastructure transition: 900 MW of long-duration contracted demand with a credible existing customer. It advances the business materially, though the missing economics and delayed deployment mean the immediate financial contribution is still several quarters away.
