Leadership realignment — Moen gets dedicated leadership; new CIO effective November 2, 2026
Fortune Brands’ leadership changes put Moen and House of Rohl under tighter focus while adding a technology chief to improve execution.
Fortune Brands is in a post-transition execution push: its Water business was already under pressure, with Q2 2026 Water sales down 6.5%, while management said service challenges and added investments were affecting performance. The company has also been moving toward a more business-unit-led model, so this filing is the next step in that operating reset rather than a wholly new strategy.
The main change is sharper accountability around Moen and House of Rohl. Dave Barry is moving from COO to lead Moen, Rachel Roberts becomes Moen’s commercial chief, and House of Rohl’s general manager will report directly to the CEO. 〔0〕 〔1〕 〔2〕 That should reduce competition for centralized resources and make execution closer to the brands, but it also confirms that management sees focus and operating discipline—not portfolio expansion—as the immediate problem to solve.
The CIO appointment adds capability, not near-term financial evidence. Peter DuBois brings housing, manufacturing, e-commerce, cybersecurity, data and technology experience, while John Lee will concentrate on R&D and Consumer Services. 〔3〕 〔4〕 This aligns technology and product development with the company’s stated execution agenda, but the filing gives no quantified benefit, cost target or change to financial guidance.
Relative to expectations, this is directionally constructive but not a clean positive surprise. The broader organizational realignment was already underway, and recent results had already signaled that Fortune Brands needed better service and execution. The new information is the specific leadership split and the external CIO hire; the business impact remains unproven.
Bottom line: Fortune Brands is tightening operating ownership around its most important Water brands and upgrading technology leadership. It meaningfully advances the execution plan, but does not yet change the financial story on its own.
Peter DuBois starts as CIO, November 2
