Enova International, Inc. (ENVA) · Oct 22, 2026 · Earnings
Beat — Adjusted EPS $4.48 vs ~$4.42 consensus
Enova earnings slightly beat consensus as revenue topped $1 billion, originations surged and credit stayed stable despite the abandoned Grasshopper strategy.
Enova is a fast-growing online lender to underserved consumers and small businesses, now proving its standalone lending model after withdrawing its regulatory applications and ending the planned Grasshopper Bank merger.
The quarter modestly beat an already-high bar. Adjusted EPS of $4.48 was above the published consensus of roughly $4.42, while revenue of $1.009 billion edged past the roughly $1.00 billion expectation. That is a narrow earnings beat rather than a surprise acceleration, because investors were already expecting another quarter of roughly 30% adjusted-EPS growth.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $1.009B | $802.7M in Q3 2025; +26% |
| Adjusted EPS | $4.48 | $3.36 in Q3 2025; +33%; ~$4.42 consensus |
| Diluted EPS | $4.06 | $3.03 in Q3 2025; +34% |
| Originations | $2.57B | $1.96B in Q3 2025; +31% |
| Net revenue margin | 60.6% | 57.1% in Q3 2025 |
| Net charge-off ratio | 8.1% | 8.5% in Q3 2025 |
| Adjusted EBITDA | $268.6M | $217.7M in Q3 2025; +23% |
The core lending engine remains unusually durable. Originations, receivables and revenue all grew at roughly 25% or better, while the net revenue margin expanded to 60.6% and charge-offs declined year over year. 〔0〕 That combination says Enova is scaling volume without an obvious deterioration in credit economics.
The result strengthens the standalone story, but does not replace the lost bank strategy. Enova reached a record $1 billion revenue quarter and still had $1.3 billion of liquidity, giving it room to keep funding portfolio growth and repurchases. But the Grasshopper deal had been intended to add deposits, a national bank charter and broader product reach; this quarter demonstrates execution without that acquisition, not that the strategic gap has been solved.
Capital returns remain part of the operating model. Enova repurchased $46 million of stock and entered the fourth quarter with $252 million of remaining authorization. That is supportive of per-share growth, though it is secondary to whether receivables can keep expanding while credit losses remain controlled.
Bottom line: This was a genuine but narrow earnings beat, backed by strong volume growth and stable-to-improving credit. It validates Enova’s standalone lending engine after the bank deal fell away, but it does not restore the longer-term diversification that the merger was meant to provide.
