Star Equity’s October investor presentation restates its diversified holding-company strategy and 2030 EBITDA targets, with no new deal or guidance.
Star Equity is still in the early build-out of a diversified holding company: after its 2025 merger, it is operating across Building Solutions, Business Services, Energy Services, and Investments while trying to scale through organic growth, bolt-on acquisitions, and asset monetization. This filing does not materially change that story. The October presentation repeats the same basic blueprint and long-range targets already laid out in recent company materials, rather than announcing a transaction, new financing, revised guidance, or a fresh operating milestone. The company says it is building a “diversified, scalable multi-platform portfolio of operating companies” and believes adjusted EBITDA can grow from $6 million in Q2 2026 TTM pro forma to $40 million by 2030. 〔0〕
| Metric | Q2 2026 TTM pro forma | 2030 goal |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $223.9M | ~$400M |
| Adjusted EBITDA | $5.9M | ~$40M |
| Building Solutions adjusted EBITDA | $4.1M | ~$15M |
| Business Services adjusted EBITDA | $3.9M | ~$25M |
| Energy Services adjusted EBITDA | $4.1M | ~$7M |
| Investments adjusted EBITDA | $1.8M | ~$1M |
| Corporate costs | $(8.1)M | ~$(8.0)M |
The deck confirms the portfolio’s current earnings base, not its delivery. The underlying pro forma business generated $223.9 million of revenue and $5.9 million of adjusted EBITDA, while common shareholders still carried a pro forma adjusted loss of $1.07 per share. The gap between that current base and the $40 million 2030 target remains the central execution challenge, especially because much of the upside is framed as management belief rather than contracted revenue or announced acquisitions.
The only modestly useful update is better visibility into the operating levers. Star highlights a recovery and expansion plan for Hudson Talent Solutions, capacity and product expansion in Building Solutions, and investment plus bolt-on acquisition ambitions for Alliance Drilling Tools. Those are directionally consistent with the company’s prior strategy, so they add context more than surprise. The company also points to $215 million of usable NOLs and more than $20 million of potential non-cash-generating asset monetization, but neither is a realized cash benefit today.
Bottom line: This is a polished restatement of Star Equity’s existing holding-company thesis, not a new catalyst. It keeps the long-term story intact but does not materially improve near-term evidence that the ambitious EBITDA ramp is being delivered.
Next quarterly results, likely November 2026
