Manufacturing site established — Completed ahead of October 23, 2026 contractual deadline
Bluejay Diagnostics completes its manufacturing milestone ahead of the Toray deadline, reducing one contractual risk but leaving FDA clearance and funding ahead.
Bluejay is a late-stage, pre-revenue diagnostics company trying to move its Symphony IL-6 sepsis test from completed pivotal enrollment toward analytical validation and a planned FDA 510(k) submission, while still dependent on outside manufacturing and additional capital. Its June 2026 filing said the company was targeting a submission in the first half of 2027 and expected to raise $10 million to $14 million through fiscal 2027.
The filing removes a real contractual risk, but does not create a new product milestone. Bluejay says it substantially completed the SanyoSeiko manufacturing site ahead of the October 23, 2026 Toray deadline and formally notified Toray that the obligation was met. 〔0〕 The deadline and the need for an alternative site were already public, so the surprise is execution ahead of schedule rather than a change in strategy.
This advances regulatory readiness by reducing dependence on one manufacturing pathway. The SanyoSeiko site, combined with the U.S. ALURIS relationship, gives Bluejay a more diversified manufacturing setup and lowers the risk that supply problems block validation work. That matters because Bluejay previously identified manufacturing interruptions as a potential cause of FDA submission delays.
The core commercialization hurdles remain untouched. The filing does not report FDA clearance, completed analytical validation, clinical results, a submission date, revenue, or new financing. Bluejay explicitly reiterates that the Symphony IL-6 test is not FDA-cleared and remains investigational. 〔1〕
Bottom line: This is a modestly positive execution update: Bluejay clears a Toray-linked manufacturing obligation ahead of time and reduces supply-chain risk. It makes the regulatory path more workable, but does not yet shorten the path to FDA submission or commercialization.
