The ETH hoard grew—but Bitmine’s cash cushion nearly halved

5.815M ETH and $250M projected annualized staking revenue vs 5.798M ETH and ~$247M previously
BITMINE IMMERSION TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (BMNR) — AllSight decodes this SEC 8-K in plain English, versus what the market expected.

The direction was already known; the latest figures mostly extend the existing accumulation story. The prior weekly update had already put Bitmine near 5.8 million ETH, with roughly $247 million in projected annualized staking revenue and more than 4.9 million ETH staked. Against that standing expectation, this filing adds only about 17,000 ETH and lifts projected staking revenue to $250 million—not a material change in the operating narrative.

Total crypto, cash and “moonshots”$11.4 billion$11.3 billion

Projected annualized staking revenue$250 million~$247 million
Projected annualized staking reward at full scale$287 million~$291 million

The meaningful deterioration is liquidity, not ETH ownership. Cash and marketable securities fell to $78 million from $173 million in the prior update, while the filing says the company repurchased 1.7 million shares during the week and has bought back more than 20.8 million shares since July 1. The filing states, "Since July 1, 2026, Bitmine has repurchased 20.8 million shares of common stock under the previously authorized $4billion share repurchase program."

Staking progress is constructive but not an upside surprise. Staked ETH rose to 5.07 million, or 87% of the 5.82 million ETH treasury, and management now projects $250 million of annualized staking revenue. But the full-scale reward estimate declined to $287 million from approximately $291 million previously, reflecting a lower stated yield. The filing says, "Annualized staking revenues are now projected at $250million."

Net: this is an incremental treasury update, not a clean beat. ETH holdings, staking penetration and projected current revenue moved slightly higher, but those gains were largely anticipated and came alongside sharply lower cash and a lower full-scale reward estimate. With no independent published consensus for these weekly operating metrics, the proper read is versus the company’s immediately preceding update: modest progress, offset by reduced liquidity and no major new information. The filing reports, "As of August 16, 2026, Bitmine total staked ETH stands at 5,067,309."
