In line — Revenue rose sequentially; net loss narrowed from $13.8M in Q2
DarkHorse earnings show a bigger power platform and completed hosting installs, but AI conversion remains in pre-construction development.
DarkHorse is in the middle of a post-Cathedra transition: it is moving from bitcoin mining toward owning and developing power-backed data-center infrastructure for AI and high-performance computing. Before this release, the company had about 53 MW of operating capacity, a pipeline above 100 MW, and a stated plan to preserve hosting revenue while qualifying sites for AI conversion.
The operating platform advanced, but mostly through capacity and readiness—not AI revenue. Contracted power doubled to approximately 100 MW, with 50 MW operating and another 50 MW tied to a facility under development. The Bitdeer installations across three sites are complete, giving the company a more tangible near-term hosting base while it evaluates higher-value AI uses. 〔0〕 〔1〕
| Figure | Q3 2026 | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Contracted power (Operational update) | 100 MW | 50 MW previously |
| Operating power (Company overview) | 50 MW | — |
| PIPE gross proceeds (Financing update) | $5.0M | — |
| Insider PIPE participation (Financing update) | $1.0M | — |
| PIPE net proceeds (Financing update) | $4.8M | — |
| Iowa site sale (Asset sale update) | $1.5M | $0.3M cash + $1.2M note |
The financial direction improved sequentially, but the release does not provide enough detail for a clean consensus call. Revenue increased from both Q2 2026 and Q3 2025, while the net loss narrowed from $13.8 million in Q2; cash also improved from $2.8 million at June 30 after the PIPE and asset-sale proceeds. Comparability with last year is weak because Cathedra only contributed after the June 1 combination.
The main limitation is that the AI thesis remains a development plan, not a commercial business yet. The basis-of-design work, boundary surveys and preliminary layouts are meaningful execution steps, but the company explicitly says these activities remain pre-construction development. There is still no disclosed AI anchor customer, operating AI facility, or AI-specific revenue stream. The $5 million PIPE and non-core asset sales fund the transition, but they also underline that additional capital and project execution are still required. 〔2〕
Bottom line: This is a modest advance in DarkHorse's infrastructure story, not proof that the AI pivot has arrived. The company is building a larger power and hosting platform, but the value-changing AI commercialization milestone is still ahead.
