8% share reduction — 2.89M shares repurchased, about 8% of Class A shares outstanding
Avalanche Treasury’s earnings update shows an 8% share-count reduction, FalconX loan payoff and a sharp shift toward staking its AVAX treasury.
Avalanche Treasury is a newly public AVAX-holding vehicle, still moving from post-business-combination cleanup toward a functioning treasury model built around staking yield and tighter capital allocation. Its prior quarter showed $1.5 million of staking revenue but a $44.7 million net loss, while the balance sheet carried a $23 million FalconX borrowing and a separate $10 million Galaxy term loan.
The clearest change is a meaningful reduction in the share count. AVAT repurchased 2.89 million shares for about $3.3 million, equal to roughly 8% of shares outstanding, and is holding them as treasury shares. The $10 million authorization was already known from the August earnings release, so the surprise is not the existence of a buyback but the speed and size of execution.

Treasury deployment has improved materially from the post-closing bottleneck. AVAT says regulatory and liquidity constraints initially left much of its AVAX unstaked after the June business combination; by September, about 91%—roughly 12.1 million tokens—was staked and producing yield. 〔0〕 That directly advances the company’s core operating model, although the filing gives no new staking-revenue figure to quantify the benefit.
Debt cleanup is helpful, but the filing does not establish a fully deleveraged balance sheet. Management says it eliminated the FalconX loan, which removes one financing constraint and should make more of the treasury operationally flexible. 〔1〕 However, the filing does not state the repayment amount, funding source, or whether the separate Galaxy borrowing remains outstanding, so this is a targeted cleanup rather than proof that balance-sheet risk has disappeared.
The earnings signal is still incomplete. AVAT labels the third-quarter figures preliminary and unaudited, provides no EPS, revenue or net-loss numbers here, and says full results are due in November 2026. 〔2〕 With no reliable published consensus to compare against and no preliminary income statement figures in the release, this filing cannot support a beat-or-miss call on quarterly earnings.
Bottom line: This is a modestly constructive execution update: AVAT materially reduced dilution, put most of its AVAX to work and removed the FalconX loan. It strengthens the treasury story, but the actual quarterly financial read remains pending.
