Neonc Technologies Holdings, Inc. (NTHI) · Nov 5, 2026 · Earnings
Miss — EPS about -$0.28 vs roughly -$0.25 consensus
NeOnc’s Q3 earnings show a smaller loss and lower spending, but the EPS miss and ongoing funding needs temper the clinical progress story.
NeOnc is a clinical-stage CNS cancer biotech trying to move NEO100 and NEO212 through mid-stage development after positive NEO100 Phase 2a data and a $15 million financing. The financing improves near-term liquidity and removed the Series A preferred stock’s potential dilution, but the company remains pre-revenue and dependent on additional capital; its prior quarterly filing said available resources were insufficient to fund at least twelve months of operations and raised substantial doubt about continuing as a going concern.
The quarter was financially better year over year, but still missed the narrow earnings bar. Net loss fell to $4.4 million from $8.6 million, and operating expenses declined to $5.8 million from $6.9 million, but reported EPS of about -$0.28 was worse than the roughly -$0.25 published expectation. The improvement is real, yet for a company with no product revenue, the market’s main measurable benchmark remains cash burn and per-share loss.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net loss (Financial results) | $4.4M | $8.6M | |
| Total operating expenses (Financial results) | $5.8M | $6.9M | |
| Operating expenses excluding stock compensation (Operating expenses) | $5.57M | ||
| Diluted EPS (External earnings reference) | -$0.28 | -$0.25 |
The financing strengthens the balance sheet, but does not solve the funding story. NeOnc said it raised $15 million and redeemed all Series A Convertible Preferred Stock in cash, eliminating that instrument’s potential dilution. That is a meaningful cleanup, but the company explicitly warns that it will require substantial additional capital, so this is runway extension rather than financial self-sufficiency.
The clinical narrative is advancing, but most of the good news was already public. The NEO100 Phase 2a study met its primary endpoint, and NEO212 is moving toward Phase 2. 〔0〕 Those developments support the pipeline, but they were announced before this quarterly filing; the November 13 presentation is the next opportunity for new detail rather than a surprise contained in today’s release.
The Abu Dhabi memorandum adds strategic reach, not yet clinical or financial proof. The MoU creates a framework for cooperation in CNS oncology, but it is nonbinding and still requires separate agreements and approvals. It broadens NeOnc’s international ambitions without changing the company’s near-term development economics.
Bottom line: NeOnc is executing better on costs and has bought more time with the financing, but the quarter still falls slightly short of expectations and leaves the central funding risk intact. The business story is mixed, with clinical progress offset by a small earnings miss and continuing capital dependence.
