Beat — Adj. EPS $0.13 vs ~$0.10 consensus; sales $258.3M vs ~$250.7M
Funko’s Q3 earnings beat revenue and adjusted EBITDA expectations, while Core Collectibles growth and debt reduction offset another Loungefly decline.
Funko is in a margin-and-cash turnaround: it is pushing growth through Core Collectibles and international markets while deliberately shrinking Loungefly’s SKU count to improve product productivity, and using better cash generation to reduce debt. That direction was already established after Q2, when management raised EBITDA guidance but kept sales guidance broadly flat to up 3%.
Q3 was a clean beat against the standing bar. Revenue reached $258.3 million, ahead of the roughly $250.7 million consensus and the company’s own expectation for approximately flat year-over-year sales. Adjusted EBITDA was $32.1 million, above the $25 million-$30 million internal range, while diluted EPS was $0.13 versus a published consensus of about $0.10. The filing also says gross margin came in at 45.2%, above the expected 43%-44% range. 〔0〕

| Diluted EPS (Executive Summary) | $0.13 | $0.02 | ~$0.10 consensus |

The quality of growth is improving, but not broad-based. Core Collectibles grew 4.8%, helped by Pop!, Mystery Mini and Advent Calendar timing, while Europe grew 12%. That more than offset a 9.8% Loungefly decline despite roughly 50% fewer SKUs. The latter supports management’s productivity thesis, but it also means Funko is still relying on its core franchise to carry a shrinking secondary brand.
Profitability and balance-sheet execution are the strongest part of the update. Gross margin improved five percentage points year over year, helped by lower tariffs, lower minimum guaranteed royalties and reserve adjustments. Inventory fell 8% year over year and total debt declined $29 million year to date, including $5 million in Q3. Those are meaningful operational improvements for a company still managing leverage, although the margin comparison is helped by favorable cost items rather than only underlying demand.
The full-year outlook is unchanged, so the beat advances execution more than it rewrites the story. Funko reiterated flat-to-up 3% sales growth and $100 million-$110 million of adjusted EBITDA, but that EBITDA range includes a $25.4 million tariff-related benefit recognized in Q2. The result therefore confirms the turnaround is tracking ahead of near-term expectations, while the underlying growth engine and Loungefly recovery remain works in progress.
Bottom line: Funko delivered a better-than-expected quarter with genuine margin, inventory and debt progress. It is a modest step forward for the turnaround, not a wholesale change in the story because sales guidance stayed put and Loungefly remains under pressure.
