Refined Phase 3 strategy — Primary DFS endpoint missed; adjusted hazard ratio 0.47 (p=0.0086)
Elicio’s earnings update adds sharper Phase 3 selection data for camupepimut, but the core AMPLIFY-7P endpoint still failed and financing remains central.
Elicio is a clinical-stage biotech trying to turn camupepimut from a failed overall Phase 2 readout into a narrower, biomarker-guided pancreatic-cancer program. The June result already established that AMPLIFY-7P missed its primary endpoint and that the company needed more capital before launching Phase 3; today’s filing adds the subgroup detail and financing runway that determine whether that rescue strategy is credible.
The clinical signal is more usable, but not cleanly validated. The new analyses show lower recurrence-or-death risk across ctDNA-negative patients, ctDNA-positive patients, and patients without prior radiation, while the adjusted analysis estimates a 53% hazard reduction. But the headline limitation remains that the randomized study missed its primary DFS endpoint in the full intent-to-treat population. This strengthens the case for a targeted Phase 3 design; it does not restore the evidentiary strength of a clean overall win.
| Measure | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net loss (Financial Results) | $8.0M | $10.1M | |
| Net loss/share (Financial Results) | $0.30 | $0.60 | |
| R&D expense (Financial Results) | $4.9M | $5.0M | |
| Cash and equivalents (Balance Sheets) | $30.9M | $18.6M at Dec. 31, 2025 |
The balance sheet now buys time, not proof. Elicio raised $4.3 million through its at-the-market program during the quarter and had already raised about $13.6 million in a July registered direct offering. The company now says cash supports operations into Q2 2027, extending the previously stated Q1 2027 runway, but the filing still points to a financing-dependent path for a future registrational trial. 〔0〕
The next operating test is execution on the narrower plan. Elicio is targeting a Q4 2026 Phase 1 study combining camupepimut with daraxonrasib, with or without nivolumab, in metastatic KRAS-mutated pancreatic cancer. 〔1〕 That program and the eventual Phase 3 design will show whether the subgroup findings become a development path or remain a post-hoc explanation for a failed trial.
Bottom line: This is a meaningful refinement of Elicio’s strategy, not a reversal of the Phase 2 miss. The business story improves modestly because the company has a more focused clinical path and more runway, but the central efficacy risk remains unresolved.
