KLX Energy Services Holdings, Inc. (KLXE) · Nov 5, 2026 · Earnings
In line — Revenue $185.6M vs ~$182.5M consensus; diluted EPS $(0.68) vs $(0.35) consensus
KLX earnings beat its Q3 revenue guide and expanded margins, but heavy interest expense and weak cash flow keep the turnaround unfinished.
KLX is an oilfield-services turnaround rebuilding demand and margins after the Wolf Pack acquisition while trying to delever through a large rights offering. Before this report, management had narrowed Q3 revenue guidance to $180–185 million and forecast a 13%–14% Adjusted EBITDA margin, so the operating bar was already fairly clear.
Operations cleared the company’s own bar, but not by enough to make this a clean earnings beat. Revenue reached $185.6 million, just above the top of the revised guidance range, while Adjusted EBITDA rose 33% sequentially to $24.9 million and margin expanded to 13.4%. The revenue figure also modestly exceeded the published consensus of approximately $182.5 million, but reported diluted EPS of $(0.68) was materially worse than the roughly $(0.35) consensus, largely because of $13.4 million of interest expense and a $3.8 million loss on debt extinguishment.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q2 2026 | Consensus / Q3 2025 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $185.6M (+10.9%) | $167.3M | ~$182.5M consensus |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Highlights) | $24.9M (+33.2%) | $18.7M | $21.1M |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (Financial Highlights) | 13.4% | 11.2% | 12.7% |
| Diluted EPS (Income Statement) | $(0.68) | $(0.41) | $(0.35) consensus |
| Net debt (Net Debt) | $183.1M | $281.0M | $252.6M |
| Levered free cash flow (Cash Flow) | $(4.1)M | $4.1M | $5.7M |
The strongest part of the quarter was the operating leverage in the Rocky Mountains and Southwest. Rocky Mountains revenue grew 15.4% sequentially and Adjusted EBITDA doubled to $12.6 million, while Southwest turned modestly profitable and lifted Adjusted EBITDA to $8.8 million. 〔0〕 That improvement was partly offset by Northeast/Mid-Con, where EBITDA fell to $12.2 million, and by corporate costs, which produced an $8.7 million Adjusted EBITDA loss.
The balance-sheet repair is real, but the business has not yet converted the rebound into cash. The rights offering converted $87.8 million of debt into equity and raised $37.2 million of new equity, reducing total debt by roughly $100 million from the prior quarter. Net debt fell to $183.1 million, but quarterly levered free cash flow turned negative at $(4.1) million as capital spending rose to $12.6 million and working capital increased.
The fourth-quarter outlook keeps the story constructive but raises the execution burden. Management expects Q4 revenue of $172–184 million, implying a seasonal slowdown from Q3, while emphasizing margin protection, cash generation, and continued Wolf Pack synergy delivery. The key question is whether the improved operating performance can persist long enough to overcome the company’s still-heavy interest burden and produce positive free cash flow.
Bottom line: KLX is executing better operationally than expected and has materially reduced debt, but the quarter still shows a leveraged turnaround rather than a finished recovery. The revenue and EBITDA progress is modestly better than the standing bar; the GAAP loss and negative free cash flow keep the overall result essentially in line, not a decisive beat.
