Allogene Therapeutics, Inc. (ALLO) · Nov 5, 2026 · Earnings
In line — EPS -$0.15 vs published consensus ~-$0.15
Allogene’s Q3 earnings matched expectations, while unchanged cash guidance leaves the focus on expanded ALLO-329 autoimmune data due November 9.
Allogene is a clinical-stage biotech building off-the-shelf CAR T therapies around two main efforts: cema-cel in earlier-line lymphoma and ALLO-329 in autoimmune disease. The company is still pre-revenue, so the business case rests on clinical execution, cash discipline and whether its allogeneic approach can make CAR T easier to deliver.
The quarter itself was on plan, not a surprise. Allogene posted a $0.15 per-share loss, matching the published consensus of roughly $0.15, with no collaboration revenue. The more important operating detail is that total expenses rose to $54.8 million from $44.9 million a year ago, led by higher research and development spending as the pipeline advances. Net loss widened in dollars, but per-share loss improved because the share count was substantially higher.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Collaboration revenue (Statements of Operations) | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| Research and development (Statements of Operations) | $41.9M (+34.6%) | $31.2M | |
| Total operating expenses (Statements of Operations) | $54.8M (+22.0%) | $44.9M | |
| Net loss per share (Statements of Operations) | $(0.15) (21.1% better) | $(0.19) | $(0.15) |
| Cash, cash equivalents and investments (Selected Balance Sheet Data) | $388.9M | $258.3M | |
| 2026 operating expense guidance (Corporate update) | $165M | ||
| 2026 GAAP operating expense guidance (Corporate update) | $225M |
The clinical update is the real substance, but it is still a setup rather than a readout. Allogene says the ALLO-329 presentation at the American College of Rheumatology meeting on November 9 will include more patients, longer follow-up, three dose levels and three lymphodepletion approaches. 〔0〕 That makes the catalyst more informative than the previously published nine-patient abstract, but this filing does not provide the expanded efficacy or safety results themselves.
The broader development story remains intact, with no meaningful schedule deterioration. ALPHA3 enrollment is described as continuing with greater site participation and community-oncology expansion, while the company continues to point to a mid-2027 clinical update and year-end 2027 enrollment completion. Those are execution signals, not proof that the MRD-guided treatment strategy works.
Cash remains adequate, but the quarter consumed capital as expected. Cash, cash equivalents and investments fell from $423.6 million at June 30 to $388.9 million at September 30, while management maintained its projection of a runway into 2029. 〔1〕 The $165 million operating-expense outlook and $225 million GAAP expense outlook were also reiterated rather than improved.
Bottom line: This is an in-line financial quarter with unchanged funding and trial plans. It modestly advances the story by bringing a more meaningful ALLO-329 data set into view, but the filing itself does not yet validate the autoimmune program.
