JFrog earnings beat as cloud revenue surges 60%

Beat — Non-GAAP EPS $0.32 vs ~$0.23 consensus; revenue $179.2M vs ~$165.9M

JFrog’s Q3 earnings sharply beat expectations, powered by 60% cloud growth, stronger retention and a major increase to full-year guidance.

JFrog is shifting from a software-artifact repository into a broader cloud and software-supply-chain security platform, with AI-generated code and assets becoming the growth narrative. The prior quarter already showed strong execution: Q2 revenue was $163.8 million, cloud revenue grew 53%, and management guided Q3 revenue to $164–166 million and full-year revenue to $648–652 million.

The quarter was a clear beat, not just a routine delivery. Revenue reached $179.2 million, roughly 8% above the published consensus of $165.91 million, while non-GAAP diluted EPS was $0.32 versus approximately $0.23 expected. The size of the upside matters because it came on top of an already raised Q3 guide, rather than against a low bar.

Non-GAAP diluted EPS (Financial Highlights)$0.32$0.22$0.23
Cloud revenue (Financial Highlights)$101.5M (+60%)——

The strongest evidence is the cloud transition. Cloud revenue grew 60% and reached 57% of total revenue, up from 46% a year earlier, showing that JFrog is not merely growing its legacy self-managed business. Retention also improved to 124%, while customers generating more than $1 million of ARR rose to 112 from 71 a year earlier.

The forward reset is almost as important as the quarter. Full-year revenue guidance moved to $680–682 million from the prior $648–652 million range, and full-year non-GAAP operating-income guidance rose to $142.5–144.5 million from $116–120 million. That is a meaningful increase to the operating trajectory, not merely a confirmation of the prior plan.

Execution is improving while profitability scales. Non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 22.7% from 18.7% last year, and free cash flow more than doubled to $66.5 million. GAAP operating loss narrowed to $1.8 million from $21.6 million, although the company still relies heavily on stock-based compensation, which totaled $41.8 million in the quarter.

Bottom line: This materially strengthens JFrog’s current story: cloud adoption, enterprise expansion and profitability all accelerated together, while management raised the full-year outlook. The direction was partly known, but the magnitude makes this a genuinely important positive update rather than a routine beat.
