Miss — Revenue $151.4M vs. $151.5M–$154.5M guidance; adjusted EBITDA $45.0M vs. $44M–$46M
EverCommerce’s third-quarter earnings show revenue below guidance, offset by in-line EBITDA, buybacks, and a costly push to restore growth.
EverCommerce is a vertical software platform serving small and midsize service businesses, trying to restart growth after a period of slowing demand and leadership changes. Its prior Q3 outlook called for $151.5 million–$154.5 million of revenue and $44 million–$46 million of Adjusted EBITDA, with full-year results already expected toward the low end of guidance.
The quarter missed on the growth metric that matters most. Revenue came in just below the low end of the company’s own range, while pro forma revenue grew only 2.1% year over year. Management attributed the shortfall to delayed Security & Alarm milestones, lower vendor rebates, and continued weakness in organic-search-driven customer acquisition.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Guidance / reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Statements) | $151.4M (+2.7%) | $147.5M | $151.5M–$154.5M |
| Subscription and transaction fees (Financial Statements) | $148.2M (+4.2%) | $142.2M | |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Adjusted EBITDA reconciliation) | $45.0M | $46.5M | $44M–$46M |
| Net income from continuing operations (Income Statement) | $6.0M | $5.8M |
Profitability held up better than demand. Adjusted EBITDA landed near the midpoint of guidance despite the revenue miss, and subscription and transaction-fee revenue grew faster than total revenue. That keeps the cost structure from looking immediately broken, but it does not solve the underlying customer-acquisition problem. 〔0〕
Management is responding with investment, not a quick fix. EverCommerce plans targeted paid-media spending in its product-led-growth businesses and says revenue may not reaccelerate until it exits 2027. That is a meaningful admission that the current growth slowdown is operational and may take several quarters to reverse, rather than being limited to one delayed milestone. 〔1〕
The buyback continues, but it is secondary to the operating reset. The company repurchased 1.6 million shares for approximately $15.7 million in the quarter and had $28.5 million remaining under its authorization. Cash generation remains substantial, with $86.0 million of operating cash flow through nine months, but the capital return does not change the fact that the business is still searching for durable top-line momentum.
Bottom line: This was an earnings miss on revenue, cushioned by in-line EBITDA. The bigger change is strategic: EverCommerce is acknowledging that restoring growth will require new customer-acquisition investment and time, so the operating story weakens even though cash generation and profitability remain intact.
