Blend Labs, Inc. (BLND) · Nov 5, 2026 · Earnings
Beat — Revenue $32.9M vs ~$32.47M consensus; non-GAAP operating income $4.9M vs $3.5M-$4.5M guide
Blend earnings modestly beat revenue expectations, while Autopilot adoption accelerated. The business is improving operationally, but growth remains limited.
Blend is in a transition from a cost-cutting, mortgage-exposed software business toward agent-first lending, centered on its Autopilot product. Autopilot became commercially available in July 2026, and the prior quarter had six signed lenders; the latest filing says adoption has reached ten customers.
The quarter modestly beat the operating bar. Revenue of $32.9 million came in above the published consensus of roughly $32.47 million, while non-GAAP operating income of $4.9 million exceeded the prior quarter’s $3.5 million-$4.5 million outlook. The revenue beat is narrow, but profitability was better than expected. (Income Statement; Non-GAAP operating reconciliation)
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Income Statement) | $32.9M (+1%) | $32.7M | ~$32.47M |
| Non-GAAP operating income (Non-GAAP operating reconciliation) | $4.9M (+14%) | $4.3M | $3.5M-$4.5M guide |
| GAAP gross margin (Income Statement) | 72% (-2 pts) | 74% | |
| Operating cash flow, continuing operations (Cash Flow statement) | $0.8M | $(2.9M) |
Autopilot is the more important strategic signal than the small revenue beat. Management says Autopilot moved from six customers to ten and that the related pipeline is now large enough to size, suggesting the product is progressing from launch validation toward a measurable sales opportunity. 〔0〕 That is meaningful because the company’s current growth plan depends on converting this pipeline, not on a broad rebound in mortgage volumes.
The underlying growth profile is still restrained. Total revenue rose only 1% year over year, with Mortgage Suite revenue down 2% and Consumer Banking Suite revenue up 5% in the quarter. Gross margin also compressed to 72% from 74%, so the better operating result came mainly from lower operating expenses rather than accelerating top-line demand. (Segment revenue table; Gross Profit Reconciliation; Income Statement)
Cash generation improved, but liquidity remains a watchpoint. Continuing-operations operating cash flow turned positive at $0.8 million and nine-month free cash flow reached $14.3 million, yet cash and cash equivalents fell to $20.7 million from $45.1 million at year-end after $37.2 million of share repurchases. (Cash Flow statement; Balance Sheet) The filing therefore shows better operating discipline, but not a cleanly strengthening balance sheet.
Bottom line: This was a modest earnings beat with a stronger-than-expected profit result and encouraging Autopilot adoption. It advances Blend’s transition story, but the small revenue growth and weaker gross margin keep it from being a major change in the business outlook.
