Beat — Revenue $131.1M vs ~$129.4M consensus; Q3 guide midpoint $129.2M
AvePoint’s Q3 earnings beat internal guidance and lifted full-year ARR, revenue and profit targets, but non-GAAP margin compression complicates the AI-growth story.
AvePoint is shifting from cloud-data protection toward a broader AI trust platform, using governance, security, recovery and agent management to capture enterprise AI adoption. The prior quarter had already established accelerating ARR growth and repeated guidance raises, so this filing is mainly about whether that momentum is converting into durable operating leverage.
The quarter cleared the bar, but not by a wide margin. Revenue reached $131.1 million, about 1.5% above the midpoint of the company’s prior Q3 guide and roughly 1.3% above the published consensus of about $129.4 million. SaaS revenue grew 26%, while ARR rose 27% to $495.1 million, showing that the recurring-business engine remains the strongest part of the story.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / Prior guide | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total revenue (Financial Highlights) | $131.1M (+19%) | $109.7M | ~$129.4M consensus |
| SaaS revenue (Financial Highlights) | $105.5M (+26%) | $84.0M | |
| Total ARR (KPI highlights) | $495.1M (+27%) | ||
| GAAP operating margin (Financial Highlights) | 8.7% | 7.4% | |
| Non-GAAP operating income (Non-GAAP Reconciliations) | $22.0M (-9%) | $24.1M | $21.5M prior guide midpoint |
| Non-GAAP operating margin (Financial Highlights) | 16.8% | 22.0% |
The bigger positive is the forward reset. AvePoint raised the midpoint of full-year ARR guidance from $525.1 million to $526.8 million, revenue from $510.5 million to $512.3 million, and non-GAAP operating income from $87.4 million to $88.0 million. That means the company is carrying Q3’s outperformance into the outlook rather than merely reporting a strong quarter. 〔0〕
Profit quality is the counterweight. GAAP operating margin improved to 8.7%, but the less distorted non-GAAP operating margin fell to 16.8% from 22.0% as sales and marketing spending rose faster than revenue. That suggests AvePoint is deliberately spending into the AI trust opportunity, but the filing does not yet show that the new platform is producing better incremental economics.
The balance sheet supports the investment, but cash is being returned aggressively. Operating cash flow improved to $71.6 million through nine months, while cash fell to $410.7 million after $141.3 million of share repurchases. The company has funding capacity for its AI expansion, but the buybacks make the cash decline look more like capital allocation than pure operating strain.
Bottom line: AvePoint is executing ahead of its near-term targets and raising the year, with ARR momentum still intact. The result is modestly better than expected, but falling adjusted margins keep it from being a clean acceleration story yet.
