Beat — Adjusted EPS $1.50 vs ~$1.41 consensus; FY adjusted EPS guide raised to $6.00–$6.10
Consensus Cloud Solutions earnings beat on adjusted EPS and lifted its 2026 outlook, even as SoHo churn and free cash flow weakened.
Consensus Cloud Solutions is a mature digital-fax and interoperability provider trying to shift growth toward its higher-value Corporate channel while shrinking the weaker SoHo business; its earlier 2026 plan already centered on corporate expansion, cost discipline, buybacks, and managing roughly $558 million of debt.
The quarter cleared the market’s bar, but not by a wide operating margin. Adjusted EPS was $1.50 versus a published consensus near $1.41, while revenue of $91.0 million was essentially in line with the roughly $90.94 million estimate. The clean GAAP picture was less impressive: diluted EPS was flat at $1.15, net income slipped 0.5%, and adjusted EBITDA margin fell 50 basis points.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $91.0M (+3.7%) | $87.8M | ~$90.94M consensus |
| Adjusted EPS (Financial Highlights) | $1.50 (+8.7%) | $1.38 | ~$1.41 consensus |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Highlights) | $47.6M (+2.7%) | $46.4M | $46.2M Q3 guide midpoint |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (Financial Highlights) | 52.3% (-0.5 pts) | 52.8% | — |
| Free cash flow (Financial Highlights) | $38.6M (-13.2%) | $44.4M | — |
| FY revenue guide (Guidance) | $360M–$364M | — | $350M–$364M prior |
| FY adjusted EPS guide (Guidance) | $6.00–$6.10 | — | $5.55–$5.95 prior |
The more important change is the raised full-year outlook. Revenue and adjusted EBITDA ranges were narrowed, but their midpoints moved higher, and the adjusted EPS range rose meaningfully from $5.55–$5.95 to $6.00–$6.10. That is better than simply repeating the prior plan and indicates that year-to-date execution and lower share count are now translating into more earnings confidence.
Corporate is carrying the growth story, while SoHo remains the drag. Corporate revenue rose 9.1% to $61.4 million, but SoHo revenue fell 6.0% to $29.6 million; both channels also showed higher monthly churn than a year earlier. The filing supports continued progress in the intended mix shift, but it does not show broad-based customer health: Corporate churn rose to 3.87% from 2.73%, and SoHo churn rose to 4.78% from 3.71%.
Cash generation and leverage temper the earnings beat. Quarterly operating cash flow fell 11.7% and free cash flow fell 13.2%, which management attributed to working-capital movements. At the same time, the company repurchased $20.7 million of stock and renewed authorization to retire up to $348.2 million of its remaining 2028 notes, while ending the quarter with $549.6 million of long-term debt. The capital-allocation actions are supportive, but they do not remove the underlying debt burden.
Bottom line: This is a modestly better quarter and a genuinely improved outlook, led by Corporate growth and higher expected adjusted EPS. The signal is positive, but the weaker cash conversion, rising churn, and SoHo decline keep it from being a story-changing beat.
