In line — Revenue $673.8M vs ~$667.0M consensus
Playtika earnings slightly beat revenue estimates, but declining users and core-game revenue expose a weaker growth engine beneath the margin gains.
Playtika is trying to shift its mature mobile-game portfolio toward higher-margin direct-to-consumer sales while using tighter marketing to protect cash generation; its Q2 plan emphasized reduced marketing investment, expanding DTC, and SuperPlay contribution.
The headline number was narrowly ahead, not a clean beat. Revenue of $673.8 million was about 1% above the published consensus of roughly $667.0 million, but the filing gives no EPS comparison and revenue was essentially flat year over year. 〔0〕
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $673.8M | $674.6M | $667.0M |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Highlights) | $252.1M | $217.5M | |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (Financial Highlights) | 37.4% | 32.2% | |
| Direct-to-consumer revenue (Financial Highlights) | +31.4% | ||
| Average daily paying users (Business Highlights) | 333K | 354K |
The business is shrinking even as the cost base improves. Average daily paying users fell 5.9% year over year, and average daily active users fell 13.4%; higher payer conversion and monetization helped offset that traffic loss, but they do not yet show renewed audience growth.
DTC is working, but it is not yet large enough to reverse the portfolio decline. DTC revenue grew 31.4% year over year, benefiting from materially lower payment fees, while third-party-platform revenue fell 14.3%. That mix shift is strategically useful, but total revenue still declined sequentially and flagship titles weakened: Bingo Blitz fell 18.2% year over year and Disney Solitaire fell 21.9% sequentially. 〔1〕
The margin surge is real but partly supported by items investors should not treat as recurring growth. Adjusted EBITDA rose 15.9% year over year to $252.1 million, helped by the leaner spending model, but the reconciliation includes an $80.0 million contingent-consideration addback and $10.1 million of acquisition-related tax credits.
The balance sheet gives the transition time, not a new growth engine. Playtika reported approximately $1.1 billion of available liquidity and roughly 2.3x net leverage, but its $550 million revolving credit facility expires in March 2027.
Bottom line: This was roughly in line financially: cost discipline and DTC mix produced a strong margin quarter, but falling users and weaker major games show the underlying growth problem is still unresolved.
