In line — Net investment income per share $0.16 vs ~$0.16 consensus
Advanced Flower Capital earnings landed in line with consensus, while discounted share repurchases lifted NAV and reduced leverage.
AFC is still building out its broader BDC strategy. After becoming a regulated business development company in 2026, it is targeting lower-middle-market borrowers with senior debt across industries rather than remaining narrowly focused on cannabis lending.
Quarterly earnings were essentially at the market’s bar, not above it. Net investment income per share reached $0.16, matching the published consensus of roughly $0.16. Total investment income slipped modestly from the prior quarter, but lower expenses and a larger unrealized gain lifted net increase in assets per share to $0.28 from $0.23.

The strongest part of the quarter was capital allocation, not portfolio growth. AFC repurchased 285,656 shares for about $1.0 million at a 58% discount to NAV, creating $0.06 of NAV accretion; cumulative 2026 repurchases have added $0.24 per share.
The underlying loan book was stable but not expanding meaningfully. Fair value was virtually unchanged at $289.6 million, although the portfolio grew from 17 to 18 investments and remains entirely senior secured first-lien debt. Gross fundings of $4.6 million were more than offset by $8.1 million of repayments and amortization, producing negative net fundings of $3.5 million.
Balance-sheet risk moved in the right direction. Debt outstanding fell $10 million to $197 million, debt-to-equity declined to 1.03x from 1.10x, and net debt-to-equity fell to 0.49x from 0.53x. That gives the company more room to navigate repayments and selectively redeploy capital, even though the quarter did not show portfolio expansion.
Bottom line: This was an in-line earnings quarter with a modestly better balance sheet and meaningful NAV accretion from buybacks. The business story improves slightly, but the loan book is still shrinking on a net basis rather than accelerating growth.
