Beat — adj. EPS $0.14 vs ~$0.12 consensus; revenue $33.7M vs ~$33.5M
CareCloud’s Q3 earnings narrowly beat expectations, with record margins and first AI revenue offset by higher debt and interest costs.
CareCloud is transitioning from a healthcare-services operator into a more software- and AI-led platform, using its base of more than 40,000 providers to cross-sell automation, compliance and revenue-cycle tools. That strategy was already established before this release; the new evidence is that AI revenue has begun, while operating efficiency is improving. The published Q3 expectation was roughly $0.12 of adjusted EPS and $33.5 million of revenue.
The quarter was a narrow earnings beat, not a wholesale reset. Adjusted EPS of $0.14 exceeded the roughly $0.12 consensus, while revenue of $33.725 million was modestly above the approximately $33.5 million expectation. GAAP EPS was $0.10, up from $0.04 a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA reached a record $9.88 million.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Statements) | $33.725M (+8.6%) | $31.067M | ~$33.5M |
| Adjusted EPS (Non-GAAP EPS reconciliation) | $0.14 (+40%) | $0.10 | ~$0.12 |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Adjusted EBITDA reconciliation) | $9.880M (+27.8%) | $7.733M | |
| GAAP operating margin (Operating margin reconciliation) | 19.5% | 10.3% | |
| Free cash flow (Free cash flow reconciliation) | $3.789M (-33.1%) | $5.668M |
The strongest part of the release is operating leverage. Revenue less direct operating costs rose to 50.5% of sales from 47.8%, and GAAP operating margin nearly doubled to 19.5%. Management also reported a 44% reduction in manual claim touches in three months, suggesting automation is producing measurable internal efficiency rather than remaining only a product narrative. 〔0〕 〔1〕
The AI growth story has moved from promise to an early commercial signal, but not yet to material scale. CareCloud recognized its first revenue from LailaCare during the quarter and plans a late-Q4 SaaS compliance launch. That is meaningful validation of the strategy, but the filing does not quantify AI revenue or show that cross-selling is yet a significant growth driver. 〔2〕
The balance sheet is the main constraint on the otherwise clean operating result. Term and other loans increased to $37.295 million from $1.169 million at year-end, while quarterly interest expense rose to $1.801 million from $0.147 million. The company says cash flow is reducing debt, but nine-month operating cash flow fell to $16.327 million from $19.886 million and free cash flow declined to $11.916 million from $14.726 million. The debt increase reflects the capital restructuring and preferred-stock redemption already discussed in prior results, so it is not entirely new, but it limits how much of the margin improvement translates into shareholder earnings.
Full-year guidance was reaffirmed rather than raised. The $128–$132 million revenue range, $29–$31 million adjusted EBITDA range and $0.20–$0.23 GAAP EPS range remain intact. With nine-month revenue at $96.875 million, the company needs roughly $31.1–$35.1 million in fourth-quarter revenue to reach that range; the unchanged outlook supports execution, but does not materially lift expectations. 〔3〕
Bottom line: CareCloud delivered a modest operating beat with genuinely better margins and the first revenue from its AI strategy. The business is progressing, but higher debt, interest costs and weaker cash generation keep this from being a major change in the company’s overall story.
