Beat — Revenue $14.0M vs ~$13.29M consensus
Apyx Medical’s third-quarter earnings beat revenue expectations, with AYON driving Surgical Aesthetics growth while OEM sales continued to shrink.
Apyx is shifting its business toward Surgical Aesthetics and the AYON body-contouring platform, after receiving FDA clearance for power liposuction and beginning a limited launch in June 2026. The quarter shows that transition gaining traction, but not yet producing a clean company-wide acceleration.
Revenue beat the modest market bar, led by the strategic business. Total revenue rose 9% to $14.0 million, above the published consensus of roughly $13.29 million, while Surgical Aesthetics revenue grew 17% to $13.0 million. The growth came from domestic AYON sales and higher international Renuvion generator sales.

AYON is doing the work Apyx needs it to do, but the mix shift is incomplete. Surgical Aesthetics growth more than offset a 42% decline in OEM revenue, which management attributes to lower sales volumes to existing customers. The full commercial launch of the reusable power-liposuction handpiece is a meaningful expansion of AYON’s addressable use case, but this quarter provides only early evidence of adoption rather than proof of a large new revenue stream. 〔0〕
Profitability improved enough to beat the earnings bar, even though expenses rose. Adjusted EBITDA moved from a $0.1 million loss to $0.4 million of positive EBITDA, and net loss narrowed to $1.8 million. The improvement was helped by better revenue and cash usage, while operating expenses still increased 5% and cash declined to $25.8 million from $31.7 million at year-end. The lower full-year operating-expense range—from below $45 million to $41.0-$42.5 million—is a real cost-control improvement, although it does not by itself change the company’s still-loss-making profile.
The quarter is better than expected, but it does not rewrite the story. AYON adoption is now visible in the numbers, and the revenue beat plus positive adjusted EBITDA modestly strengthen the transition toward Surgical Aesthetics. The OEM contraction and continued cash burn keep this as an execution update, not a decisive business-model inflection.
Bottom line: Apyx delivered a modest earnings beat and clearer evidence that AYON is becoming the growth engine. The business is advancing, but the sharp OEM decline and ongoing losses limit how much this quarter changes the overall story.
