Lamar earnings beat revenue, raise AFFO guide despite EPS miss

In line — EPS $1.59 vs ~$1.65 consensus; revenue $624.5M vs ~$621.7M; FY AFFO guide $8.87-$8.97 vs $8.75-$8.90

Lamar’s Q3 earnings show faster advertising growth and higher 2026 AFFO guidance, though diluted EPS came in below consensus.

Lamar is a large outdoor-advertising operator in the middle of a demand recovery, using its digital billboard network and national-customer reach to push organic growth. Its August outlook already assumed improving sales momentum and had lifted 2026 AFFO guidance to $8.75-$8.90 per share.

The quarter was operationally healthy, but not a clean earnings beat. Revenue of $624.5 million exceeded the published consensus of roughly $621.7 million, while diluted EPS of $1.59 fell short of the roughly $1.65 consensus. The important underlying measures were better: acquisition-adjusted revenue rose 6.2%, acquisition-adjusted EBITDA rose 8.2%, and diluted AFFO per share increased 9.5% year over year. The revenue acceleration was helped by national customers, digital inventory and political spending.

Q3 2026Q3 2025Consensus / Prior guide
Net revenue (Financial Highlights)$624.5M$585.5M~$621.7M
Diluted EPS (Income Statement)$1.59$1.40~$1.65
Adjusted EBITDA (EBITDA reconciliation)$306.9M$280.8M
Diluted AFFO/share (AFFO reconciliation)$2.41$2.20
Free cash flow (Cash Flow reconciliation)$220.1M$189.2M
FY2026 diluted AFFO/share guide (Guidance)$8.87-$8.97$8.75-$8.90

The guidance increase is the filing’s strongest signal. Lamar raised the full-year AFFO range by $0.12 at the low end and $0.07 at the high end, indicating management believes the stronger sales trend is carrying into the fourth quarter. This matters more than the small GAAP EPS miss because AFFO is the company’s key recurring cash-generation measure as a REIT.

The balance sheet remains a constraint, not the new headline. Lamar ended September with $721.1 million of liquidity, but total debt rose to $3.50 billion from $3.42 billion at year-end. The extension of its receivables financing program to October 2029 improves funding flexibility, but it does not materially change the company’s leverage profile.

Bottom line: This was an in-line quarter on earnings, with revenue and cash-generation trends better than feared and another upward guide revision. It modestly strengthens Lamar’s operating story, but does not rewrite it because the EPS miss and elevated debt remain part of the picture.
