Tapestry, Inc. (TPR) · Nov 5, 2026 · Earnings
Beat — Non-GAAP EPS $1.82 vs ~$1.56 consensus; revenue $1.894B vs ~$1.85B
Tapestry’s earnings beat expectations as Coach accelerated globally, margins expanded and full-year revenue guidance rose—despite continued Kate Spade weakness.
Tapestry entered Fiscal 2027 with its Amplify strategy working mainly through Coach: the company is using handbags, Gen Z customer acquisition and international expansion to drive growth, while Kate Spade remains the turnaround piece. The prior-year record showed Coach as the dominant growth engine and Kate Spade still working toward a return to profitable topline growth.

The quarter cleared a reduced market bar by a meaningful margin. Published estimates were approximately $1.85 billion of revenue and $1.56 of EPS; Tapestry delivered $1.894 billion and $1.82, respectively. That is not just a nominal beat: earnings were helped by 230 basis points of non-GAAP operating-margin expansion, while the company also said direct-to-consumer revenue grew 9% and exceeded expectations.
Coach is extending the growth story faster than planned. Coach revenue rose 16% in constant currency, with North America up 7% and international revenue up 30%; Greater China rose 39%. That directly reinforces Amplify’s intended playbook of acquiring younger consumers and accelerating international growth. The company said it added 2.6 million new consumers in the quarter, about 35% of them Gen Z. 〔0〕
The weakness is concentrated in Kate Spade, not hidden in the consolidated result. Kate Spade revenue declined 10%, and its operating loss was $20 million on a GAAP basis, or $6 million excluding the distribution-network charge. That is better than the prior guidance for a low-double-digit decline at the revenue level, but it means the portfolio’s second brand is still not contributing to the growth engine.
Management raised the full-year revenue outlook and expanded capital returns. The new $8.5 billion-$8.6 billion revenue range is above the prior $8.4 billion-$8.5 billion guide, while planned repurchases increased by $350 million to $1.7 billion.
Cash generation was the main qualifier to an otherwise clean quarter. Operating cash flow improved to $197 million from $113 million, but adjusted free cash flow fell to $56 million from $103 million as working capital absorbed cash and the company spent $600 million on repurchases. That does not undermine the earnings beat, but it makes the larger capital-return plan more dependent on continued execution through the rest of the year.
Bottom line: This was a clear execution beat that strengthens Tapestry’s Coach-led growth story and raises the financial bar for Fiscal 2027. Kate Spade remains unfinished work, but the quarter materially advanced the overall business narrative rather than merely confirming it.
