ProFrac Holding Corp. (ACDC) · Nov 5, 2026 · Earnings
Miss — Revenue $511.1M vs ~$556M consensus; adjusted EBITDA $65.4M vs $69.4M prior quarter
ProFrac earnings show a mixed turnaround: revenue improved, but missed the higher consensus bar while EBITDA slipped; cash flow and liquidity strengthened.
ProFrac is trying to turn a tightening hydraulic-fracturing market into better pricing and cash generation while carrying roughly $1 billion of net debt. The prior quarter’s setup was for third-quarter improvement in stimulation services and a $155 million–$185 million 2026 capital-spending range; published revenue estimates for Q3 varied widely, from roughly $475 million to $556 million.
The operating improvement was not enough to clear the main earnings bar. Revenue rose sequentially to $511.1 million from $498.1 million, but remained below the higher published consensus of about $556 million; adjusted EBITDA fell to $65.4 million from $69.4 million, even as management said pricing and fourth-quarter utilization were improving.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q2 2026 | Q3 2025 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Income Statement) | $511.1M (+2.6%) | $498.1M | $403.1M |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Adjusted EBITDA reconciliation) | $65.4M (-5.8%) | $69.4M | $40.9M |
| Free cash flow (Free Cash Flow reconciliation) | $13.5M | $(7.9)M | $(29.2)M |
| Net loss attributable to common shareholders (Income Statement) | $(82.2)M | $(81.0)M | $(102.2)M |
Cash generation and near-term liquidity improved, but the balance sheet remains the constraint. Free cash flow turned positive at $13.5 million, liquidity excluding Flotek increased to approximately $97 million from $72 million at the prior quarter-end, and net debt declined to $1.008 billion from approximately $1.084 billion previously. Those are meaningful stabilizers, but they do not offset the continued GAAP loss or remove the need for contemplated asset sales.
The outlook is incrementally better, not a reset of the story. ProFrac now expects 2026 capital expenditures of $160 million–$180 million, narrowing the prior range while leaving the midpoint broadly unchanged, and it extended debt maturities and reduced scheduled amortization through early 2028. Management’s expectation that 2027 demand exceeds deployable supply is encouraging, but it is still a forward-looking industry thesis; the quarter itself showed that pricing and utilization have not yet translated into sustained EBITDA expansion.
Bottom line: This was a modest earnings miss rather than a collapse: cash flow, liquidity and debt timing improved, but the core operating recovery still lacks momentum against the higher expectation bar. The business is better positioned for a tighter 2027 market, but this quarter did not yet prove the turnaround is accelerating.
