Beat — Diluted EPS $0.44 vs ~$0.42 consensus
Excelerate Energy earnings beat EPS expectations, while lower revenue and higher growth capex temper the quarter’s strong operating performance.
Excelerate is building a contracted LNG infrastructure platform around floating regasification units, with new earnings contributions from Jordan and planned deployments in Colombia, Iraq, and the Bahamas. The prior quarter had already raised 2026 Adjusted EBITDA guidance to $490–$515 million, so another strong operating quarter was partly expected.
The quarter beat the main per-share earnings benchmark, but not on revenue. Diluted EPS was $0.44 versus a published consensus of roughly $0.42, while revenue was $297.2 million versus roughly $372.1 million of consensus. The revenue shortfall reflects the volatile LNG, gas, and power business: that segment fell to $131.6 million from $245.2 million a year earlier, partly offset by higher terminal-services revenue. The filing states, “Reported Adjusted EBITDA of $133.5million for the third quarter.”
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guidance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Results) | $297.2M (-24.0%) | $391.0M | ~$372.1M |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Results) | $133.5M (+3.2%) | $129.3M | — |
| Diluted EPS (Financial Results) | $0.44 (+2.3%) | $0.43 | ~$0.42 |
| Full-year Adjusted EBITDA outlook (2026 Financial Outlook) | $495M–$515M | — | $490M–$515M |
| Committed growth capex (2026 Financial Outlook) | $400M–$410M | — | $380M–$400M |
Underlying operating performance improved despite the revenue mix. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $133.5 million from $129.3 million last year, and net income increased to $60.0 million from $55.0 million. The filing attributes the improvement mainly to the new Jordan charter and stronger LNG, gas, and power direct margins, with Atlantic Basin delivery timing working against revenue. The filing states, “Net Income and Adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter of 2026 increased sequentially from the prior quarter primarily due to the new charter in Jordan and higher LNG, gas, and power direct margins.” 〔0〕
The guidance change is modestly constructive, but it is not a clean upgrade. The EBITDA range’s floor rose by $5 million while the ceiling stayed at $515 million, implying greater confidence in the base business rather than a higher growth ceiling. Maintenance capex fell to $65–$75 million because work was deferred, while committed growth capex rose to $400–$410 million as spending on the FSRU conversion moved forward. Total capex remains broadly unchanged, so this is mainly a timing and mix shift rather than a fundamental reduction in investment. The filing states, “Excelerate has narrowed its full-year 2026 Adjusted EBITDA guidance range.” 〔1〕
The commercial pipeline advanced, with the Bahamas agreement the clearest new development. The 11-year AxDo supply agreement gives the planned Bahamas LNG Hub an anchor customer, with initial deliveries targeted for the first quarter of 2027 and a larger FSU phase targeted for the second half of 2028, subject to permitting, construction, and contractual conditions. The Petrobras extension through 2038 was already announced in August, so it reinforces contracted duration more than it surprises. The filing states, “The supply agreement provides for LNG deliveries of up to 16 TBtu per year.” 〔2〕
Cash generation is funding a heavier investment cycle. Nine-month operating cash flow fell to $254.5 million from $356.8 million a year earlier while property-and-equipment spending rose to $313.6 million from $129.4 million. Cash and cash equivalents declined to $356.7 million from $538.2 million at year-end, although the full $500 million revolver remained available. The filing states, “All of the $500million of capacity under the revolving credit facility was available for borrowings as of September 30, 2026.”
Bottom line: This was a mixed earnings report: EPS and EBITDA were better than expected, but revenue was well below the published benchmark and growth spending is moving higher. The business story still advances through new contracted capacity, but the quarter does not materially rewrite it.
