APA earnings beat as free-cash-flow outlook jumps $600 million

Beat — Adjusted EPS $1.94 vs ~$1.56 consensus

APA’s third-quarter earnings beat consensus, while stronger production and cost execution lifted 2026 free cash flow to about $2.9 billion.

APA is a cash-generating upstream oil-and-gas producer anchored by the Permian and Egypt, using debt reduction and shareholder returns to bridge toward Suriname’s GranMorgu development, which remains targeted for first oil in mid-2028.

The quarter was materially ahead of the market’s earnings bar. Adjusted diluted EPS was $1.94 versus published consensus around $1.56, while total revenues were $2.77 billion versus consensus near $2.43 billion. The beat was supported by stronger U.S. oil output, higher oil realizations and lower-than-guided upstream capital spending, rather than by a one-off divestiture gain. 〔0〕

The bigger change is cash generation, not just the quarterly beat. APA raised 2026 free-cash-flow expectations by $600 million to approximately $2.9 billion, giving it more room to repurchase shares while continuing to pay down debt. Net debt fell to $3.2 billion, and the company replaced its year-end $3 billion target with a new $2 billion target.

Operational execution also improved, though the cost picture is not uniformly better. U.S. oil production guidance rose to 124,000 barrels per day as Permian drilling and completion efficiency improved, while fourth-quarter completion activity is being accelerated. However, full-year lease operating expense guidance increased by $25 million because of higher stock-based compensation, and 2027 capital investment is slated to rise to $2.5 billion—about $400 million above 2026—largely for GranMorgu, exploration and additional Permian activity. 〔1〕

Bottom line: This is more than a routine earnings beat: stronger production and materially higher cash-flow expectations advance APA’s deleveraging and capital-return story. The higher 2027 investment plan adds spending ahead of GranMorgu, but does not outweigh the near-term improvement in execution and liquidity.} решений彩票软件 大发快三计划 大发彩票官网 irres Caution: The output seems to have accidental non-JSON at end due model?
