Beat — Revenue $471.5M vs ~$450M consensus; non-GAAP EPS -$0.12 vs ~$-0.19
Unisys earnings beat on revenue and adjusted margins, prompting a guidance increase. But weak DWS profitability and negative adjusted free cash flow temper the improvement.
Unisys is in a turnaround built around AI-enabled technology services while managing a shrinking legacy ClearPath base, uneven segment execution, heavy pension obligations, and a levered balance sheet. Before this filing, management had already raised its 2026 constant-currency revenue outlook to -5.0% to -3.5% and was holding non-GAAP operating margin guidance at 9.0% to 11.0%.
The quarter beat a low bar on the headline numbers. Revenue was $471.5 million, ahead of published estimates near $450 million, while non-GAAP diluted EPS was a $0.12 loss versus consensus around a $0.19 loss. Revenue also grew 2.5% year over year, although that translated to only 0.6% growth in constant currency. 〔0〕

| Reported FY revenue growth guide (2026 Financial Guidance) | -0.4% to 1.1% | -2.6% to -1.1% prior |
Management raised the reported revenue outlook, but the underlying currency-neutral improvement is more limited. The revised reported growth range moved to -0.4% to 1.1% from -2.6% to -1.1%, while TS&S constant-currency guidance improved to -3.0% to -1.0% from -6.0% to -4.0%. The full-year constant-currency company revenue range itself was not raised, so part of the upgrade reflects exchange rates rather than a wholesale change in demand.
The mix is improving in high-margin ECS and ClearPath renewals, but the core services engine remains uneven. ECS revenue rose 5.6% and its gross margin jumped to 55.5%, helped by software-heavy ClearPath renewals. ClearPath revenue itself was only up 1.7% in the quarter and remains down 9.1% year to date, while TS&S gross margin fell to 16.6%. DWS is the clearest weak spot: revenue grew 3.9%, but gross margin collapsed to 9.5% from 16.2% because of client attrition and higher implementation and delivery costs. 〔1〕
The large GAAP loss is mostly pension-related, but the cash picture is still a real constraint. The quarter included a $151 million after-tax non-cash pension settlement loss, which explains much of the $201 million net loss. The pension action reduces future obligations and advances the company toward its $600 million liability-reduction target, but adjusted free cash flow was still negative $18.7 million in the quarter and cash fell to $264.2 million from $413.9 million at year-end.
Bottom line: This was a genuine earnings beat with better reported guidance and stronger contract signings, advancing the turnaround modestly. But the improvement is not broad-based: DWS is deteriorating, ClearPath remains structurally pressured, and negative adjusted cash flow keeps the balance-sheet story unresolved.
