Beat — Revenue $197.7M vs ~$191.6M consensus; adj. EPS $4.39 vs ~$4.35
Dave’s Q3 earnings beat published expectations, with faster revenue growth, improving credit metrics, and higher 2026 guidance despite softer sequential margins.
Dave is scaling its ExtraCash-led neobank model while shifting more receivables funding to Coastal Community Bank and testing Dave Flex as a second credit product. The quarter strengthens that growth-and-operating-leverage story: published pre-release estimates clustered around $191–192 million of revenue and roughly $4.35–$4.45 of adjusted EPS, while Dave delivered $197.7 million and $4.39, respectively.
The quarter beat the market’s operating bar. Revenue growth accelerated to 31%, adjusted EBITDA rose 39%, and credit performance improved even as originations expanded. The revenue beat is the clearest surprise; adjusted EPS was roughly in line to narrowly ahead depending on the published estimate set. 〔0〕
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $197.7M (+31%) | $150.8M | ~$191.6M |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Highlights) | $81.5M (+39%) | $58.7M | |
| Adjusted diluted EPS (Adjusted Net Income reconciliation) | $4.39 (-1%) | $4.45 | ~$4.35 |
| 28-day past-due rate (Operating Highlights) | 2.09% | 2.15% | |
| FY2026 revenue guide (2026 Financial Guidance) | $746M–$750M | $725M–$735M prior | |
| FY2026 adjusted EBITDA guide (2026 Financial Guidance) | $327M–$330M | $315M–$325M prior |
Management raised the full-year bar rather than merely confirming it. Revenue guidance increased to $746–$750 million, adjusted EBITDA to $327–$330 million, and adjusted diluted EPS to $17.45–$17.65. That matters because the upgrade came alongside heavier marketing investment and a recalibrated credit-loss forecast, suggesting the increase is not simply the result of cutting investment. 〔1〕
Credit trends are improving, but margins show the cost of scaling. The 28-day past-due rate fell to 2.09% from 2.15% and below 2.00% in September, while ExtraCash originations grew 23% to $2.5 billion and monetization expanded to 5.2%. However, non-GAAP gross margin slipped to 70% from 72% in the prior quarter because Coastal funding costs and provision absorbed part of the growth benefit. 〔2〕
The Coastal amendment improves capital efficiency and supports the next leg of growth. Coastal can now retain up to $325 million of ExtraCash receivables and up to $25 million of credit-card receivables before selling them to Dave, reducing the amount of receivables Dave must fund immediately. The tradeoff is greater reliance on Coastal and variable-rate funding costs, which already contributed to the sequential margin pressure.
Dave Flex is promising but remains an option, not yet a second growth engine. Adoption moved from single-digit to double-digit thousands of active users, and management cited better-than-expected acquisition costs and cross-selling. But the broader rollout is planned for 2027, so the current quarter validates early product traction rather than proving material diversification.
Bottom line: Dave delivered a genuine earnings beat, raised all major 2026 targets, and paired faster growth with better credit metrics. Margin pressure and heavier reliance on Coastal remain watch items, but the filing clearly advances the company’s current growth story rather than merely confirming it.
