Crane NXT, Co. (CXT) · Nov 4, 2026 · Earnings
Beat — Adjusted EPS $1.28 vs ~$1.21 consensus; revenue $497.1M vs ~$495.0M
Crane NXT earnings narrowly topped consensus, but the 2026 sales outlook fell to about 14% as DTT organic sales declined.
Crane NXT is in the middle of reshaping itself into a broader authentication and traceability platform, with the March 2026 Antares Vision acquisition adding inspection and track-and-trace capabilities in life sciences and food and beverage. The immediate challenge is proving that the acquired DTT business can produce profitable organic growth while Crane integrates it.
The quarter itself was a narrow beat, not a clean acceleration. Adjusted EPS was $1.28 versus published consensus of roughly $1.21, while revenue was $497.1 million versus approximately $495 million expected. That is better than the market's near-term forecast, but the quality of the growth was uneven: reported sales rose 11.7%, while organic sales increased only 1.1%, with $50 million of the increase coming from acquisitions.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Highlights) | $497.1M (+11.7%) | $445.1M | ~$495.0M |
| Adjusted EPS (Adjusted Net Income table) | $1.28 | $1.28 | ~$1.21 |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Financial Highlights) | $127.2M (+3.9%) | $122.4M | |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (Financial Highlights) | 25.6% | 27.5% | |
| SAT organic sales (Segment sales bridge) | +7.2% | ||
| DTT organic sales (Segment sales bridge) | -5.3% |
SAT is carrying the underlying business. Security and Authentication Technologies delivered 7.2% organic growth, expanded its adjusted EBITDA margin to 29.2%, and grew operating profit 17.3%. That supports the established authentication franchise and partly offsets weakness elsewhere.
DTT remains the main execution concern. Its 17.2% reported sales growth was acquisition-driven; organic sales fell 5.3%, operating profit dropped 41.2%, and adjusted EBITDA margin contracted to 28.0% from 32.3%. The filing attributes part of the reported increase to Antares Vision, so the quarter does not yet demonstrate that the enlarged traceability platform is generating the expected organic momentum.
Management raised the EPS midpoint but lowered the growth target. Full-year sales-growth guidance moved from 15%–17% to about 14%, and DTT growth guidance shifted from the low 20s to the high teens. In contrast, adjusted EPS guidance moved from $4.22–$4.42 to $4.32–$4.42, lifting the midpoint by $0.05. This is a mixed signal: cost control, synergies, and lower projected non-operating expense are cushioning weaker growth, rather than the business producing a stronger top-line outlook.
Cash generation is a genuine bright spot. Nine-month adjusted free cash flow reached $158.2 million versus $122.2 million a year earlier, while net leverage stood at 2.5x. That gives Crane NXT room to keep integrating Antares Vision and reduce debt, although the filing's leverage figure includes acquired Antares EBITDA in the trailing period.
Bottom line: Crane NXT beat a modest quarterly benchmark and improved its EPS range, but the sales-guide reduction and DTT's negative organic growth show that the Antares-led expansion is still an integration story, not yet a proven organic-growth engine. The news is slightly better than expected, but the underlying business picture remains mixed.
