Miss — EPS -$0.70 vs ~$0.66 loss consensus; revenue $161.3M vs ~$161.5M
A.K.A. Brands’ earnings show stronger sales and margins, but a slight Q3 miss and lower full-year EBITDA guidance temper the turnaround.
a.k.a. Brands is in the middle of a turnaround: it is trying to convert its online fashion portfolio—especially Princess Polly and Culture Kings—into a more profitable omnichannel platform through faster merchandising, U.S. retail expansion, and better sourcing. Its prior quarter had already established the basic recovery pattern: modest sales performance but improving margins and adjusted EBITDA, with full-year 2026 guidance set at $625–$635 million of sales and $30–$32 million of adjusted EBITDA.
The quarter was operationally healthy but missed the narrow earnings bar. Revenue rose 9.7% year over year to $161.3 million, essentially matching the published consensus of about $161.5 million, while diluted EPS of -$0.70 was slightly worse than the roughly -$0.66 consensus. The underlying business looked better than the GAAP loss suggests: orders increased 12.8%, gross margin expanded to 60.1%, and adjusted EBITDA rose 16.6% to $8.2 million. 〔0〕

The important change is the lower full-year profit outlook, not the small quarterly miss. Management kept the sales outlook broadly intact but cut the adjusted EBITDA range by $1–$2 million and lowered the midpoint by roughly 5%. That says the growth strategy is working, but the company is not converting that growth into as much full-year profit as previously expected. The Q3 selling-expense ratio rose to 32.4%, partly because of $5.3 million in distribution-center relocation costs, so some pressure is temporary; however, the guidance cut still weakens the near-term profitability case.
The business trajectory is improving, but the turnaround remains execution-dependent. U.S. sales grew 14%, international rest-of-world sales rose 79%, and adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 5.1% from 4.8%. Cash from operations also increased to $16.2 million for the first nine months, while total debt declined year over year. Those are real signs that the sourcing reset, Culture Kings’ full-price model, and the broader omnichannel buildout are gaining traction, but the lower FY EBITDA target shows the earnings recovery is not yet fully secured.
Bottom line: This is a modest earnings miss wrapped in solid operating progress, but the reduced full-year EBITDA outlook makes the overall update slightly worse than expected. The sales turnaround is advancing; the profit conversion is still short of the prior plan.
