Beat — GAAP diluted EPS $1.38 vs ~$1.28 consensus; revenue $166.5M vs ~$155.0M
Sezzle earnings beat Q3 expectations, margins expanded, and management raised 2026 guidance for the fourth time while introducing 2027 targets.
Sezzle is moving beyond a buy-now-pay-later checkout product toward a broader consumer-finance platform, adding SezzleCash, peer-to-peer payments and a potential national bank while subscriber growth remains the core engine. The prior quarter had already established the direction: SezzleCash was live, Sezzle Send was coming, and FY2026 guidance had been raised to $185 million of adjusted net income.
The quarter clearly beat the standing bar. Revenue and GAAP diluted EPS exceeded published expectations, while adjusted EPS nearly doubled year over year. The beat was not just accounting leverage: operating income grew almost twice as fast as revenue, and transaction-related costs fell as a percentage of transaction volume.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / Prior guide | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total revenue (Financial Highlights) | $166.5M (+42.6%) | $116.8M | ~$155.0M |
| GAAP diluted EPS (Income Statement) | $1.38 (+84.0%) | $0.75 | ~$1.28 |
| Adjusted diluted EPS (Financial Highlights) | $1.37 (+95.7%) | $0.70 | |
| FY2026 revenue growth (Guidance) | ~42.5% | 35% prior guide | |
| FY2026 adjusted net income (Guidance) | $190M | $185M prior guide | |
| FY2026 adjusted diluted EPS (Guidance) | $5.45–$5.50 | $5.25 prior guide | |
| Credit losses / TTV (Financial Highlights) | 2.7% | 3.1% | ~2.5% FY target |
The more important change is another upgrade to the earnings trajectory. Sezzle raised FY2026 guidance for the fourth time, moving revenue growth from 35% to approximately 42.5%, adjusted net income from $185 million to $190 million, and adjusted diluted EPS to $5.45–$5.50. It also introduced preliminary FY2027 adjusted EPS guidance of $7.20, extending the current growth story rather than merely confirming the quarter.
The platform expansion is producing early evidence, but remains early-stage. SezzleCash completed its first full quarter with more than 15% of eligible new Anywhere subscribers starting there and more than 60% of those users later shopping at checkout; Sezzle Send reached all users in October. The WebBank arrangement keeps eligible SezzleCash and Sezzle Send loans off Sezzle’s balance sheet, while the national-bank application could eventually change funding and product economics but is still only an application, not an approval. 〔0〕 〔1〕
The main qualification is that growth investment is still running ahead of overhead efficiency. Non-transaction operating expenses rose 46.2%, faster than revenue, and marketing and technology spending remained elevated. Even so, the current quarter’s 8.2-point operating-margin expansion and lower credit-loss rate show that Sezzle is converting the added scale into substantially better profitability rather than buying growth at unchanged economics.
Bottom line: This was a genuine earnings beat accompanied by another guidance raise, not merely a strong-looking year-over-year comparison. The filing strengthens Sezzle’s existing growth-and-platform-expansion story, with the bank application adding longer-term optionality but not yet changing the near-term result itself.
