In line — Non-GAAP EPS $0.86 vs ~$0.862 consensus; revenue $966.8M vs ~$966.35M
Trimble earnings slightly beat revenue expectations, while adjusted EPS matched consensus and 2026 guidance stayed broadly unchanged.
Trimble is midway through its Connect & Scale transition, building a more recurring software-and-services business around construction, geospatial, and transportation workflows; ARR was already $2.51 billion in the second quarter, up 14% year over year. The quarter was operationally healthy, but not a major surprise. Revenue of $966.8 million was just above the published consensus of roughly $966.35 million, while non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.86 was effectively in line with the roughly $0.862 consensus. The company’s own release says results surpassed expectations, but the outside benchmark supports only a narrow revenue beat, not a meaningful earnings beat.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Statements) | $966.8M (+7.3%) | $901.2M | $966.35M |
| Non-GAAP diluted EPS (Reconciliation) | $0.86 (+6.2%) | $0.81 | $0.862 |
| GAAP operating income (Income Statement) | $142.0M (-5.6%) | $150.5M | |
| Non-GAAP operating income (Reconciliation) | $262.6M (+3.3%) | $254.2M | |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Reconciliation) | $278.5M (+3.4%) | $269.4M |
Recurring revenue continued to move in the right direction. Management reported record ARR of $2.56 billion, reinforcing the subscription transition and providing a stronger recurring-revenue base than the headline EPS result alone suggests. Segment execution was uneven: AECO grew revenue and expanded operating margin, while Field Systems grew revenue but saw margin compression; T&L remained smaller and largely stable.
The outlook is steady rather than upgraded. Full-year revenue guidance moved from $3.90 billion–$3.95 billion to $3.91 billion–$3.94 billion, leaving the midpoint unchanged while tightening the range. Non-GAAP EPS guidance similarly narrowed from $3.60–$3.70 to $3.63–$3.69, again with an unchanged midpoint. That is confirmation of execution, not evidence that the earnings trajectory has materially accelerated.
The main blemish is profitability quality beneath the adjusted figures. GAAP operating income fell year over year and gross margin declined to 68.2% from 68.9%, while restructuring expense increased. The large goodwill impairment was already recognized in the first half and does not affect the quarter, but it remains a reminder that the T&L business has been reset lower; the filing attributes that impairment to sustained pressure on market capitalization and software-business multiples.
Bottom line: Trimble is executing well enough to keep its recurring-revenue story intact, but this filing does not materially raise the bar. Revenue narrowly beat, adjusted EPS was in line, and the unchanged guidance midpoint makes this a modestly positive—not transformative—quarter.
