Beat — Adjusted EPS $1.99 vs ~$1.59 consensus
Insulet earnings beat Q3 expectations, with strong Omnipod growth, wider margins, raised revenue floors, and a new $1 billion buyback.
Insulet is scaling Omnipod as a global tubeless insulin-pump platform while repairing U.S. execution in type 2 diabetes and expanding internationally. The prior setup already included strong growth, but also a reset U.S. outlook after type 2 onboarding and retention problems; Q2 guidance had called for 17.5%-19.5% total Q3 growth and 20%-22% full-year growth.
The quarter clearly beat the published bar. Revenue reached $842.0 million versus roughly $832.6 million expected, while adjusted diluted EPS was $1.99 versus about $1.59 consensus. The beat was not just accounting noise: Omnipod revenue grew 20.0% in constant currency, led by 33.0% international growth, and adjusted operating margin expanded to 22.0% from 17.1% a year earlier.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue (Financial Statements) | $842.0M | $706.3M | ~$832.6M |
| Adjusted diluted EPS (Non-GAAP results) | $1.99 | $1.24 | ~$1.59 |
| Adjusted operating margin (Non-GAAP results) | 22.0% | 17.1% | — |
| Total FY revenue growth (Guidance) | 21%-22% | — | 20%-22% |
| Adjusted operating margin expansion (Guidance) | ~150 bps | — | ~100 bps |
Management improved the forward picture, especially outside the U.S. The full-year total-growth range moved from 20%-22% to 21%-22%, while international Omnipod growth rose to 32%-33% from 30%-32%. U.S. Omnipod guidance was narrowed to 17.5%-18.5% from 17%-19%, so the company is not claiming that the type 2 execution issue is fully solved; the more credible change is that international momentum and margin delivery are offsetting that constraint.
The $1 billion buyback reinforces confidence but is not the core operating surprise. Insulet expects to spend about $400 million in the fourth quarter from existing cash, a meaningful capital-allocation shift relative to its $584.4 million cash balance at September 30. It supports the message that cash generation and profitability are becoming durable, but it also leaves less liquidity for other uses; the business impact is secondary to the earnings beat and guidance improvement.
Bottom line: This is a meaningful execution upgrade from the post-reset story: Insulet beat expectations, international growth remained exceptional, and margin guidance improved. The remaining question is U.S. type 2 execution, but this filing strengthens rather than changes the company's existing growth trajectory.
