Beat — Revenue $158.4M vs ~$149.7M consensus; 2026 FCF guide raised to $50M-$55M
CPI Card Group’s Q3 earnings delivered a revenue beat, stronger margins and another free-cash-flow guidance increase, reinforcing its diversification push.
CPI is shifting from a card-manufacturing-heavy model toward a broader payments technology platform, using Arroweye, TRISM, cloud software and digital tokenization to diversify into higher-margin services. Its latest annual-report framing emphasized physical cards, instant issuance, software-as-a-service and prepaid solutions as the core of that transition.
The quarter was operationally ahead of the bar. Revenue reached $158.4 million, above the published consensus of roughly $149.7 million, while all three segments grew at least double digits in the quarter. The cleanest evidence is that gross profit rose faster than revenue and the company expanded gross margin by 200 basis points. citeturn559021search1

*The published EPS figure is not clearly comparable with the filing’s GAAP diluted EPS because the filing does not present an adjusted EPS measure. The revenue comparison is the cleaner benchmrch0
Cash generation is the strongest upgrade to the story. Year-to-date operating cash flow reached a record $57.3 million and free cash flow reached $46.1 million, giving CPI room to reduce debt while continuing acquisitions and technology investment.
Management raised the two targets most supported by the quarter. Revenue growth guidance moved to low-double-digit growth, and free-cash-flow guidance rose to $50 million-$55 million from $45 million-$50 million; adjusted EBITDA growth and the leverage range were reaffirmed rather than increased. 〔0〕
The mix is improving, but the transformation is not complete. Secure Card remains the earnings engine, while Integrated Paytech grew 20% in the quarter and is benefiting from TRISM and Card@Once. However, year-to-date operating income and EBITDA in both Prepaid and Integrated Paytech remain below the prior-year period, so the diversification thesis is showing traction without yet producing uniformly stronger profitability across the full year.
Bottom line: This was a solid quarter that advanced CPI’s growth, cash-flow and deleveraging story, with the second consecutive guidance increase carrying more weight than the headline EPS comparison. The event matters, but it strengthens an existing transition rather than rewriting the company’s stoy.
