Clinical progress — OD-002 IND-enabling studies completed; OD-001 Phase 2a findings previously disclosed
Odyssey Therapeutics’ earnings update advances OD-002 and OD-004, while largely confirming clinical data the market saw in October.
Odyssey is a clinical-stage autoimmune biotech moving its lead ulcerative-colitis asset, OD-001, from Phase 2a proof of concept toward randomized Phase 2b and combination testing, while preparing its second program, OD-002, for the clinic. The October 20 OD-001 readout had already established the main clinical signal: 56 efficacy-evaluable patients, a statistically significant modified Mayo improvement, and supportive biomarker and transcriptomic findings.
The new information is mostly execution, not a new efficacy surprise. This filing repeats that the OD-001 data were supported by clinical outcomes, inflammatory biomarkers, mucosal transcriptomics, and histologic improvement. 〔0〕 Because those additional analyses were presented publicly in October, the read-through is confirmation of the lead program rather than a fresh clinical inflection.
OD-002 is the clearest incremental advance. Odyssey says it has completed IND-enabling studies for the oral SLC15A4 inhibitor, moving the program from preclinical preparation toward a planned Phase 1/2a study in the first half of 2027. That is constructive pipeline progression, although the filing does not yet provide human safety, pharmacology, or efficacy data.
The portfolio is broadening, but the value remains concentrated in future trials. OD-004 now has a nominated development candidate and is entering IND-enabling work, while OD-003 remains preclinical with data due at ACR Convergence 2026. The next meaningful evidence therefore remains ahead: randomized OD-001 induction results and first human OD-002 data are not expected until the second half of 2027. The prior company update had already pointed to OD-001’s Phase 2b and combination trials and OD-002’s 2027 clinical entry.
The balance sheet still supports the plan, but spending is accelerating. Cash, equivalents, and marketable securities fell from $433.1 million at June 30 to $387 million at September 30, while quarterly R&D expense rose 60% year over year as the pipeline advanced. The company still expects funding into the second half of 2028, so this quarter does not create an immediate financing issue, but the expanding clinical workload is consuming cash faster.
| Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | |
|---|---|---|
| Cash and securities (Financial Results) | $387M | |
| R&D expense (Financial Results) | $42.1M (+60.1%) | $26.3M |
| G&A expense (Financial Results) | $11.2M (+9.8%) | $10.2M |
| GAAP net loss (Financial Results) | $53.1M (+49.6%) | $35.5M |
| Adjusted net loss (Non-GAAP reconciliation) | $41.9M (+46.0%) | $28.7M |
The filing reports net loss rather than per-share results, so a precise earnings beat-or-miss cannot be substantiated here against the published Q3 EPS consensus of roughly negative $1.13.
Bottom line: This is a modestly constructive operating update: Odyssey advances OD-002 and expands its pipeline, but the lead OD-001 evidence was already known and the decisive validation still depends on 2027 randomized trials.
