Beat — Adjusted EPS $0.80 vs ~$0.69 consensus
Solstice earnings beat estimates and raised 2026 guidance again, led by surging electronic-materials demand tied to AI and data centers.
Solstice is a newly independent specialty-materials company building exposure to secular demand in nuclear energy, semiconductors, AI infrastructure and data-center cooling through its RAS and ESM segments. Its prior quarter already showed strong execution and a raised 2026 outlook, so this report needed to prove that momentum was broadening rather than simply repeating the spin-off story.
The quarter cleared the market’s bar. Adjusted diluted EPS was $0.80 versus published estimates around $0.69, while sales of $1.046 billion were modestly above roughly $1.01 billion of consensus. Net sales rose 8% organically, and adjusted EBITDA increased 13% with margin expanding to 25.3%.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / Previous guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net sales (Consolidated Financial Highlights) | $1,046M (+8%) | $969M | ~$1,010M |
| Adjusted diluted EPS (Consolidated Financial Highlights) | $0.80 | — | ~$0.69 |
| Adjusted EBITDA (Consolidated Financial Highlights) | $265M (+13%) | $235M | — |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (Consolidated Financial Highlights) | 25.3% (+109 bps) | 24.3% | — |
| FY 2026 net sales guidance (Guidance table) | $4,195-$4,220M | — | $4,125-$4,185M |
| FY 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance (Guidance table) | $1,050-$1,060M | — | $1,035-$1,055M |
The strongest evidence is in ESM, not just the headline beat. Electronic Materials sales jumped 31%, helped by sputtering targets and thermal solutions for memory and AI-related applications, while ESM adjusted EBITDA rose 44% and margin expanded 453 basis points. That is the clearest confirmation that the company’s AI and semiconductor exposure is translating into operating leverage, rather than remaining a narrative. 〔0〕
The RAS business improved, but with a real qualification. Refrigerants and Healthcare Packaging were strong, and nuclear demand remains supported by a $2.6 billion backlog. However, RAS EBITDA margin fell 82 basis points year over year as R&D investment increased, while Building Solutions & Intermediates declined 5% because construction markets stayed soft. The weakness is contained, but it keeps the quarter from being an across-the-board acceleration.
Management raised the full-year outlook for a second consecutive quarter, but the size of the increase is measured. The midpoint of 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance rose by $10 million, revenue by $52.5 million and adjusted EPS by $0.075. That is a genuine upgrade to the operating trajectory, though not a wholesale reset of the company’s outlook. 〔1〕
Cash generation gives the growth story financial support. Operating cash flow reached $693 million through nine months, producing $368 million of free cash flow after $325 million of capital spending. Solstice also repurchased $100 million of stock in the quarter and plans to substantially complete its $500 million authorization by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The capital return is meaningful, but it also makes the company’s execution and cash conversion more important as investment spending rises.
Bottom line: This is a clear step forward for Solstice’s current story: the AI- and semiconductor-linked ESM business accelerated sharply, the quarter beat expectations, and management raised guidance again. The upgrade is meaningful but incremental, so it strengthens the existing thesis rather than rewriting it.
