Beat — Adjusted EPS $0.86 vs ~$0.80 consensus
Avient earnings beat Q3 expectations on strong organic growth, while higher margins and another FY26 EPS guidance raise reinforce its strategy.
Avient is in the middle of a strategy shift toward higher-growth materials applications—especially healthcare, defense, packaging and building & construction—while trying to improve margins and reduce leverage. Its growth-vector sales have been outpacing the broader portfolio, making sustained organic growth and operating leverage the key proof points.
This was a clear quarterly beat, not just a favorable presentation. Adjusted EPS reached $0.86 versus published consensus of roughly $0.80, while sales came in at $891.2 million versus about $857.5 million expected. GAAP EPS also rose to $0.46 from $0.36 a year earlier.
The quality of the beat was solid because growth reached both operating segments. Sales increased 10.5%, with organic growth of 10.6%, and adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 17.3% from 16.5% last year. That combination suggests the quarter was driven by more than cost cutting: pricing, mix and new-business gains supported both volume and profitability.
| Metric | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Consensus / prior guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales (Income Statement) | $891.2M (+10.5%) | $806.5M | ~$857.5M |
| Adjusted EPS (EPS reconciliation) | $0.86 (+22.9%) | $0.70 | ~$0.80 |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin (EBITDA reconciliation) | 17.3% (+0.8 pts) | 16.5% | |
| FY26 adjusted EPS guide (Outlook) | $3.22-$3.32 | $2.82 | $3.10-$3.25 prior |
| FY26 adjusted EBITDA guide (Outlook) | $593-$603M | $575-$603M prior |
Management raised the full-year EPS outlook for the second consecutive quarter. The new $3.22-$3.32 range lifts the low end by $0.12 and the high end by $0.07, while the EBITDA range was narrowed upward at the bottom to $593 million. This is the most important change to the standing story: the stronger 2026 trajectory is now being backed by results and tighter visibility, rather than only by management's strategic narrative.
The balance-sheet progress is helpful but not the main surprise. Avient repaid $100 million of debt year to date and expects leverage of 2.2x-2.3x adjusted EBITDA at year-end. The first share repurchase since 2022 adds a capital-allocation option, but at roughly $10.9 million it is too small to change the core business read.
Bottom line: Avient delivered a genuine earnings and revenue beat, expanded margins and raised full-year EPS guidance again. The filing materially strengthens the case that its growth-and-productivity strategy is translating into execution, while debt reduction remains an ongoing part of the story.
